Is there actually a difference?
Interesting read on this topic here:https://www.dagogo.com/audio-by-van-alstine-abx-comparator-review-part-3-new-twists-conclusion/The reviewer can pick out cable differences much more easily than amp differences.  In fact, as long as the amps are...
Speaker Dilemma--A Good One to Have but Confused
I had the Primaluna with the KT 150s, and it drove the Harbeth C7s (86db) without any problem.  The 96 watts of ultra linear power from the Primaluna w/KT150s is pretty amazing.  Keep in mind that many companies significantly overestimate the effi...
Can every tonearm be set up with Stevenson, Baerwald, or Lofgren?
Thanks for all the info.  I will go with Stevenson and check with the company on options for adjusting it in the future.Best, Scott
From an Anthem 225i to....
I would highly recommend the Musical Fidelity M6si.  It's got similar power to your Anthem but has a far more refined sound.  It's got a nice touch of warmth for a solid state integrated, but it doesn't gloss over details.  I love mine and have ha...
Dynaudio vs. Focal - Bookshelfs - Help me Decide!
I just moved from the Aria 906 to the Special 40, and I found the Special 40 to be significantly better than the 906 in my system.  Using a Musical Fidelity M6si to drive them.  The 40s have much deeper bass, a clearer midrange, smoother highs, an...
Turntable recommendations around $2500
I sincerely appreciate all the suggestions, and I wanted to let you all know where I landed.  After some more research and talking with a dealer who has always provided good recommendations, I went with an Acoustic Signature Wow XL with the TA-700...

Turntable recommendations around $2500
@erndog Hey Ernie!  You're testing the analog waters?  Awesome!   Tim's turntable is a VPI, so you've heard at least one.  I had a VPI Prime for a little while, but I found the adjustments with the uni-piviot arm to be really difficult.  Once I go...
Turntable recommendations around $2500
Thanks for all the info!  Hadn't thought about the GyroDec - certainly looks beautiful.  The MoFi looks like a user friendly, solidly designed option.  I like the idea of the suspension in the SOTA tables.  Another table that was just recommended ...
Platter wobble - too much?
@syntax I do think it's a great sounding table.  I'm willing to forgive a one-off production flaw.  They handled the situation with the utmost attention to customer service.
Platter wobble - too much?
I wanted to make it clear that I didn't start this post to cast any dispersions on the manufacturer (which is why I didn't mention the brand).  They responded immediately to send out a second sub-platter when they (and I) thought the initial probl...
Platter wobble - too much?
Oh, and here are the comparison videos of the old and new subplatter that I just tookold:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdzNVklN3TAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhPOdDXOlB8new:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxEdTxgOUG8https://www.youtube.com...
Platter wobble - too much?
For what it's worth, the email from the manufacturer said: "I measured the replacement inner platter run out (within the 5 thousands window). The decoupling pad that is between the inner and otter platter can cause more run out by adding its devia...
Platter wobble - too much?
I did send the videos.  The manufacturer suggested that the subplatter that they sent was measure carefully.  They suggested that if the right amount of oil is used that the bearing/spindle should fit just right in the hole without any wobble.  I'...
Platter wobble - too much?
This is actually the second sub-platter/spindle assembly that has the exact same issue (the company was very responsive to send me a second one).  Also, the second assembly was measured closely by the manufacturer to ensure that it was up to spec....
