| Which speakers pair well for Onkyo A 9555? you will notblow up speakers unless you overdrive them with the volume knob so dont fret that aspect. the choices are limitless. anything with an spl rating over 87 or so will work. it is way too subjective of a question i think. | |
| Please help me decide: that is FUNNY. i have a 3.5 wpc set and i could use the additional 996.5 watts i bet. next time i buy some 7 way speakers with a sensitivity of 78 db i will get me some, assuming they will rent me the stadium. | |
| Audiophile music some good points re. poorly recorded music sounds better on lesser gear as it is less revealing. it is a bit sad to admit but my systewm which i love, of course, does not sound that great with bad source. mid fi jbl's or polks would be better. we ... | |
| Magico S5 vs Tannoy Westminster Royal SE as i was killing a few minutes this a.m. i stumbled across this thread. my god this is priceless on so many levels. it is nearly shakespearean or at least woody allenesque. some of you guys kill me! should i ever develop such deep affection for st... | |
| What happened with the SACD format? i buy them regularly and imo they are fantasic. the real issue is how well the music was recorded and i think many miss this point. a normal cd when well recorded is better than a badly done sacd. i have no trouble finding all sorts of offerings. ... | |
| Walking Into A Brick & Mortar High End Audio Store as a former real estate agent i can offer my opinion on 'lookers'...it is part of the job to take risks with potential customers and if you are only willing to work with people that need a house in 5 minutes you are either a billionaire or not cut... | |
| Top brand speakers you do have a power strip of some sort with a fuse of some sort to avoid this? even an inexpensive one will do the trick. | |
| Teton monitors from Wavetouch Audio - A Must Hear Hifisoundguy, i agree. for a bunch of music lovers they act like mean politicians trying to have a pissing match | |
| Top brand speakers this thread is something out of a vintage woody allen movie at a thanksgiving family dinner. i am afraid to even turn on my amp after all this dissection. why do we even bother, lets just hum middle c and call it even | |
| Budget floorstading with a good waf.... Help take a look at zu speaker line. i am a real convert to single driver full range units. | |
| Audiophile newbie i have changed my mind.... i am gonna back the tekton lore or zu speakers mentioned above, might as well bypass the typical stuff and get straight to the really dynamic musically realstic sound. get an inexpesive t chip amp and whatever sacd/cd pl... | |
| Not impressed i meant merry go rund in the true sense, they are enjoyable while you ride them but at the end of the day it stops and you will want to get on it again. as a metsphor tho tbh,, it does not lead anywhere by basic design. off the mgr to me means i h... | |
| Speaker and Amp dilemma well that was one way to solve that. massive power. and here i was ready to suggest hi effeciency full range single driver speakers driven by a small t chip amp for under 70$. or a tiny tube set amp for under$300. now you see the result of low eff... | |
| Sell quality turntable to buy top CD player? the oppo is the best deal going. a dac can be used but only with non sacd types i read somewhere as the dac will rob the sacd of its advantages. when oppo first gained popularity they did not play hdcd for some reason. i imagine they do now esp co... | |
| Audiophile newbie yep, bet an integrated nad amp on amazon or similar with at least 60 wpc. get an oppo universal disc player that will allow you to play any disc available, except hd cd for some reason, ( maybe they fixed that), and a pair of nice $500 2 way books... |
