| Replacing caps in DAC Mouser has the Muse caps at a very attractive price. | |
| Replacing caps in DAC Yes, poly; no need to change them. Just redo the electrolytics and you are good to go. Enjoy! | |
| Replacing caps in DAC I can see replacing the electrolytics as they are cheap and tend to age, but why would you change out the poly coupling caps? They should be just fine. | |
| Is my CSNY De Ja Vu a bad pressing, or lost cause? I think that I went through a dozen US pressings of this one and had the same reaction that you have. I finally settled on the MoFi. Many of their reissues are of variable quality, but this one is stupendous. Worth seeking out. | |
| C-22 not selling Have you had any interest at the new pricing? It see that it is $3500, but at the end of the body of the ad it says $4500 but taking offers.I have noticed, as JMC said, that things are moving a bit slowly at the moment. | |
| The new Rega Planar 3 Willie, sorry meant to say "platter" not sub-platter. Mind is mush! | |
| C-22 not selling I used to sell a lot of Mac gear. IMHO, your price is a minimum of $500.00 too much for a C-22 in good condition being sold by a new seller. Just drop the price and you will get offers. That’s right, you will probably have to go a bit further if y... | |
| The new Rega Planar 3 Willie, I tried the Groovetracer Acrylic sub-platter. I'm looking to buy a nice used RP6, in black, right now, as I like the Rega designs so much. I think that the logic that the Rega turntables are a skeleton with no body could be extended to th... | |
| The new Rega Planar 3 Sounds like a great rig you have going there and the motor kit and belt made a big difference IMHO. You might want to consider an arm spacer to get it to the right height. But other than that..........enjoy spinning some great recordings! You did ... | |
| The new Rega Planar 3 It’s funny how as enthusiasts, we often respectfully disagree. Having used both the acrylic and glass platters on a P25 I would much rather have the glass. Leading edges are more defined, or to put it another way, harder. It is a matter of prefere... | |
| Opinions Please: Daily proliferation, several dealer/distributor ads,.. Thank goodness that you have neither a severed weight problem (ouch), nor a severe weight problem! That would certainly impair your functionality. | |
| Replacing the speakers link with silver wire I think that it's a good idea, and while you are at it you might take a page out of the Naim bible and try hooking your speaker cables with the positive leg to the + tweeter terminal and the negative leg to the - woofer terminal. Works for me. | |
| Opinions Please: Daily proliferation, several dealer/distributor ads,.. I appreciate the OP for broaching the topic, but if he has a severe weight problem perhaps "breaching" is a more apt term. The direction of the site, since the time that control changed hands, has been of increasing emphasis on dealer ads. It is cl... | |
| MC cartridges and metal platters Boofer, the Thorens TD124 has an iron platter and it can be problematic with some MCs. Of course, there is an aluminum topper, which the rubber mat is affixed to, which puts some distance between the iron platter and cartridge. Some have taken to... | |
| MC cartridges and metal platters To be specific MC cartridges should not be used with magnetically permeable platters, such as those made of iron, however almost all current turntables with metal platters have them made of aluminum which poses no likelihood of attraction to the m... |
