| PSB Image t6 or Imagine T? No sub and rotel amp I think we need a moratorium on music style seeming important to speaker selection. "I listen mostly to streaming Bangra dance music and solo flute on 78s, with some Mahler and Tibetan Throat warbeling 45 rpm LPs"...I can't take it...please...I re... | |
| Elevate Floorstanders to Ear Level? It depends on the speaker of course, but I found some butcher blocks that fit under my Silverline Preludes perfectly (2 blocks per side) and painted 'em flat black. Raised them to exactly my ear level (added maybe 4 inches) and since the Preludes ... | |
| Who needs drugs when you've got music? You can smoke pot and noodle all day, but few other drugs allow that...sort of speaks to the "lumping together" nonesense of the term "drugs." The image of the "creative stoned musician dude" is a lame parody to most pro musicians who have experie... | |
| Who needs drugs when you've got music? Some notes on drugs and music: The bebop era jazz world was devastated by heroin and I (and pretty much every informed fan) assume a LOT more great music would have been produced without it, with many less dead musicians. I've been a musician sinc... | |
| Speaker Spikes - do the shake test Yes, the engineers I've known are utterly responsible for ruining pop music as we know it. Bastards! But then I don't listen to much pop music... | |
| Jolida jd-502p Yeah man. I've thought about the mono 502p path but my speakers seem to be efficient enough to make me not want to bother...and I don't really have the room with my current rack space...HOWEVER...let me know how that works out as I've never heard ... | |
| Speaker Spikes - do the shake test France. They're from France. Also, I point out the lack of an audiophile propensity among many pro producers and engineers because it's interesting that in spite of that fact great stuff gets done. I've worked with people with great ears for recor... | |
| Speaker Spikes - do the shake test Although I wasn't asked, I don't need test results or a detailed explanation of Coneheads, they said they're from France and that's enough for me. By the way...recording studios have little to do with Audiophilia in the sense most hifi heads would... | |
| Who needs drugs when you've got music? I was referring to an insane and unsubstantiated bit of bad science that has been covered elsewhere ad nauseum, and doctors have NOT found tiny holes in the brains of E users (http://www.thefix.com/content/brain-holes-and-other-meth-myths), althou... | |
| Speaker Spikes - do the shake test I do remember a family with conical structures for heads...they were from France. | |
| Best long low noise RCA cables Long runs of unbalanced signal cable is not a good idea. Ask any guitar player...I actually use a signal booster in my guitar rig for that reason. It's always better to use short (if single ended) signal and longer speaker wires. | |
| Speaker Spikes - do the shake test I've worked in recording studios since 1967...I'm a professional musician, and I've had access to the speakers currently in my living room and they sound better with vibrapods. I am biased by the ears on my head (in my head?). | |
| ???Phono Preamp for Rega RP3 W/Elys2 ???? Just an alert...the Pangea P100 power supplies are now 69 bucks (I have 2 of the full price ones), and they work really well with a Cambridge 640P. | |
| Beware of 'Ghost Switching' I was flying my stupid little remote helicoptor and hovered it for a second while adjusting my preamp with its remote...the preamp went ballistic with a runaway volume knob...I had to leap up from the couch to mute it. I learned. | |
| need an amp... Yes. And since Rick James played with Neil Young when they were Young Canadians, he was, in fact, integrated. |
