High fidelity REVEAL interconnects

For $699 HF costumer service, said it can compete with the Odin, apparently this cable is available for shipping a week before Christmas?      Agoners any opinion?

Regarding the 14 day return policy on the Audiogon ad. I contacted HFC the other day about this and they assured me that they have a 30 day trial period with there products.

So why not just give it a try in your system and find out for yourself?

I have tried cables that some people thought sounded lively in there system, but then I tried them in mine and they sounded dull . Can’t always go by what someone else hears in there setup.
Got these in my system and so far I am diggin what I hear. Very 3d, amazing detail, black background and very pleasant to listen to overall. Only a few hours in. Will keep burnin them in the rest of the weekend. These don’t sound like $700 cables. They are also the heaviest cables I ever used before. Don’t let the gray parts of the cable fool you, they are not plastic, they are like fishing weights lol.
Why would I lie? No I don’t have the ODIN’s, would never buy something with that price tag.
I can say I have compared them to cables in there price range. Which probably doesn’t really excite some of you lol. But, I can say they destroy the Wireword Silver Eclipse 6 and the High Diamond 7’s and a few other cables that I won’t mention.
I did have the CT-1 Enhanced in my system at one time. I wasn’t blown away by them. I did like them, but these REVEAL sound more detailed, Dynamic and open to me. But ultimately I wasn’t able to a/b them, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. For $700 this is a crazy deal that I KNOW FOR SURE!
@ jetter Thank You lol

@respected_ent  They don't sound bright or thin on my system. As a matter of fact, they have the most bass punch I have heard in any interconnect I have tried.

Sounded very good pretty quick surprisingly (less than 3 hours). I only have about 10hrs of playtime on them. I would be perfectly happy if they didn’t change much. It’s actually hard to imagine them getting much better. Usually new cables for me sound edgy, thin or dull...these did not. When I installed them, they sounded a little confused. Then after 3 hours or so they started to focus. Tons of detail, lots of depth in the soundstage, punchy bass, very low noise floor. realistic cymbal sounds, everything you want in a very expensive product, but your only paying a fraction of the cost.

They created such a drastic change in they way my system sounds, that I will need some time before I try some of there other products. (Adaptors and the MC5’s)

The other thing I like about these is they don’t have the magnets on the rca plugs, so they don’t attract particles. Its the waveguide in the middle of the cable that seems to be doing all the work. They don’t also don't have the issue of the rca's being overly tight fitting either. They fit just right.
I will respectfully say the CT GE IC’s are very different sounding in my system. What I love about both cables is they are the most musical sounding cables I have heard to date. The main difference is the CT are very laid back and warm. The Reveals are much more clear and dynamic. The combo of the CT GE SC’s and the IC were just too warm for my tastes. That’s why I made the move to the Reveals.

I was actually going to say earlier in my posts, that the best sub $1500 combo that I have come across is the CT GE Speaker cables and the Reveal interconnects. That is currently what I am using now and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Even with the soon to be released Reveal SC’s. I view matching cables to be just like being a chef making food. You have to be careful how much of this and that you add to your dish. The combination of the warmth of the CT SC’s and the clear detail sound of the Reveal are just perfect for me. This is the combination that I have been so desperately searching for.
@jayctoy I was concerned about the RCA plugs being too big when I first saw them in person. But was relieved that they fit perfectly without touching each other. I am sure HFC tested these extensively. Update on breakin: these cables continue to improve. They have never once sounded harsh, gritty, or bright, very natural even with bad recordings which really surprised me.
I agree to let these break in fully. At 50 hours now with mine and I can hear a lot more clarity in midrange and bass is getting louder and tighter. The highs remain sweet sounding. I notice I do not have to turn my amp as loud. So, didn't mean to imply they don't need much break in...just they sound good early on.
Do people really buy 1m speakers cables? The audiogon ad says starting at $999 for 1m. But, then I find out that it costs $2,049 for 2.5m (which is a much more popular size) How is this an affordable option? $1299 makes much more sense.
Originally that was the price. I promise! I wrote a email to them complaining about it. Glad to see they took my advice LOL! I am not kidding. The interconnects are still blowing me away. I might bite on the speaker cables now that the prices seem much more reasonable...so thank you for posting the new pricing.
@jetter
Guess I should just sell my cables then? I am sure you have heard them...right?
My Audio Equipment Profile
  • Speakers: Eminent Technology LFT 8b (84db)
  • Integrated Amp: Primare i30 (100 wpc)
  • Source: SimAudio D260 Transport
  • Dac: Chord QuteHD
  • Power Cables: Core Power Technology (1) 300 (2) 150
  • Speaker Cable: Wireworld Eclipse 5.2 (All Copper)
  • Digital Cable: Empirical Audio BNC 2 BNC
  • Interconnect: High Fidelity Cable REVEAL

Sound Generalization: Neutral yet fairly laid-back. I listen at lower levels, so I need a system that has a low noise floor and has bass impact.

Negatives: Before the Reveal interconnects my system sounded more confused with faster passages and had a slight grain texture on the top. Low mid-range had a noticeable spike which would hide detail. Soundstage was not as wide or deep as I wanted. My goal was to lessen the negative comments above. (The info above is based on the Wireworld Eclipse 5.2 IC’s in my system)

Since adding the Reveal Interconnects: The negatives I had with my system have lessen dramatically and I have a much more holographic presentation. Instruments have an improve focused location in the soundstage. The top end is rendered more realistically with less grain and more decay (air). Bass is more tuneful and dynamic. Overall much more satisfying and much closer to a live event.

The interconnects that I have used in the recent past. Wireworld Eclipse 5.2, Wireworld Silver Eclipse 6, Hi Diamond D7 and Cerious Technology GE.
@thankful

I just got the Primaluna Dialogue Int Amp last week. Enjoying it quite a bit. I also added the MC-O5 power conditioner plug from HFC. This product added a nice amount of clarity from top to bottom. It was not hard to notice either. A great low cost tweak. I will be adding a few more in the future.

Do the Reveal sound good right away or do they require substantial break in? I just tried the XLR verison after being plugged in overnight from my source. So far I’m not too impressed compared to the Cerious, kinda dull with limited bass and treble.

If I am trialing only one set where should it be tried, at the source (Dac), preamp or at the Amp?

ozzy

Funny I had the opposite experience as you. The Cerious (200hr burn in ) were dull, no bass, lacked highs. I felt the Reveals brought everything to the table, yet retained a very musical non analytical experience.

I have my Reveal interconnects connected from my Dac to my Integrated Amp. I felt they sounded good right away and got better up to 100hrs or so.

Ozzy? Didn't you once try the HFC in your system and not care for them? If so, what led you to trying out the Reveals?
The HFC’s didnt work in the past for him so why would the budget line HFC REVEAL change that??? Just because they are XLR?? I would send them back an enjoy what you have. Your wasting your time.

Ozzy...if you go to the HFC website, you will see that all the HFC lines come in XLR.
If I was you, I would contact Rick at HFC. I am assuming your referring to the Reveal line SC’s

How long did you have the cables in your system?

I assume you had at least a few hundred hours on them?

I might have a play around with the newer line SC’s ??? however unless they are significantly less capacitive than the CT1-U’s then I am not confident of the synergy I would be seeking.

Took 4 months for ya :)

Glad you enjoy the combo. What speaker cables are you using?

@ozzy
A lot of people seem to like the combo of the HFC ic's and CT sc's. Maybe your experiencing that as well? Welcome to the family lol
