The Rolling Stones Blue and Lonesome and Pink Floyd Animals on a Rega RP6  turntable with a Exact cartage.
" I listened to Pink Floyd Wish you were here ( CBS half speed )  on my clear audio concept wood MC"

I don't like getting up to change the record either, but I wouldn't play it at half speed.
Jethro Tul, The Masters.  Technics SL 1200 mk2.  Audio Technica MLX 150. BTW great idea it's nice talking "shop".
@lenmc2964

what is the the sound quality like on the latest Stones album. I love their earlier Blues covers and especially the releases remastered by Bernie G?
Hi steve1979,

Take a look at all of the ongoing threads and you'll get an answer to your question.

Cheers!
Last night it was Guy Clark's Old # 1, Nick Waterhouses Never Twice, Joe Turners Boss of the Blues and Pot Liquors Levee Blues all on my VPI Prime and ZYX Universe cartridge and it all went down very well.

Great way to see what you all are listening to and what on. Might try listening to some of of the records mentioned . Fantastic way to broaden my taste .
👍
Mark Knopfler, Beryl on my Garrard 301 Jelco 12"er and Van Deh Hull MC10.  if you have not heard this album its very nice specially the  Ruth Moody dues she ahs a wonderful voice
Zappa - Joe's Garage Acts 2/3. Garrard 401, Jelco 12" with brass counterweight, Decca Super Gold with Paratrace. Jaques Cardin VSOP cognac. Sublime.

Well ... first the new family kitten!

Then Spanish Guitar Vol 2 (Narciso Yepes).
Some Stones, Pretenders,  and Roots & Blues release of The Slide Guitar.

Oh .. the 16 month old grandson, duplicating the kitten's fascination, delighted in grabbing the tonearm for a good shake.  Hopefully the onslaught will cease and I can play more vinyl.
"Cootie Williams in Hi-Fi" and Rolling Stones "Let It Bleed" on a Music Hall mmf-2.1 with Goldring 1012GX.
I find that reissues are hit or miss, but "The Alternate Blues" by Analogue Productions Revival Series is killer on my TW-Acustic Raven One.
Kenny
Listened to a bit of London Grammar last night . Fantastic .
im certainly glad my cat pays no interest in the turntable. 😬
My old (original actually) Blues Breakers ("Beano") with Clapton LP on a clean Linn Basic/Akito rig…love that album.
Luxman PD444 spinning Hot Tuna America’s Choice. This is an indexed copy retired from a Radio Free Europe station. Goodness knows how many ears heard this from behind the iron curtain. God knows how America’s choice has changed...
im just waiting for my Pinky Floyd animals to arrive in the post. Might have spotted a gem on eBay. The description was a bit vague but the price was very good. So here's hoping I have got a good deal . But that will get auditioned when that arrives
I just got the Sean McGee remaster of The Beatles 1967-1970 "Blue" album. I played it last night on my Technics SL1210 M5G w/fluid damper and AT150Sa cartridge mounted to Yamamoto cherrywood headshell. I’ve also been playing some Russian orchestral music lately--Rimsky-Korsakov, Khachaturian, Mussorgsky, etc.

On jazz and pop I sometimes switch to a Shelter 201 mounted on a Jelco headshell. The Shelter has a gorgeous midrange which caresses lead vocals, saxes, guitars, etc.

When playing the Beatles Mono 2014 reissues (and other mono albums), I use an Audio Technica AT-MONO3/LP HOMC also mounted on a Jelco HS. This combo really brings it home on these mono albums--strong sense of in-room presence, midrange transparency, excellent tonal balance and dynamics, and best of all, a very strong artist-to-listener connection.

Rich Robinson / Through a Crooked Sun / Pro-Ject RPM 9.1
I just picked this up,and giving it a first listen. I am really enjoying it.
Stanley Turintine, Gordon Goodwins Phat Band, Christine Mcvie's Solo album with Todd Sharp on guitar..
Ah nice thread.

As I write "Coltrane" Impulse Mono A-21 original pressing on a Garrard 401 with an Ortofon SPU mono 1960's rebuilt cartridge - SF-1 valve integrated/Croft pre-amp which I'm using the phono stage for and Yamaha NS-690 speakers. In fact I've been buying up as many mono pressings as I can get my hands on/afford to replace my stereo pressings of my favourite jazz albums, as listening to mono records on a mono cart is totally new and mind blowing experience.
Bobby Lyle "Ivory Dreams" and Tower of Power "Back to Oakland" Super-Disk on an SME 30 with SME V arm and Dynavector XV-1s.

Aah. Thanks for the reminder. I have that one along with Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

I will give them both a spin tomorrow on my Technics SL1210M5G w/KAB fluid damper, Oracle Groove Isolator turntable mat, and a stack of isolation layers playing into Marc Voigt’s all-tube handwired PTP Phonomena phono stage and MAGI line stage driving a Perreauwx PMF150 power amp driving a pair of Magneplanar 1.7s augmented by a pair of Mirage MM8 subwoofers.

Not that that would make many of you drool, but this has been a seriously winning combination for me for over three years with no compulsion to change.

+1 on the MAGI Phonomenal!  Had mine for two years and still in love.

Last night I readjusted the anti-skating on my Oracle Alex, so I played the hardest to track albums I have: Linda Ronstadt, Hasten Down The Wind and 10,000 Maniacs, In My Tribe. Sounded great. Now that I think of it, I inherited some Beethoven. Maybe I'll try that.
Bob Dylan- Street Legal on a 1983 Linn LP12 with a Grado Reference cart. What can I say, I'm old. LOL
ranjan,

You actually inspired me. I'm cleaning "Oh Mercy" right now.

Cheers!
Hey Crazy Bill,

Just wondering how you like your "Amazon Grand Referenz/Moerch DP8" ?

How does it compare to the other tables you've had, especially the Fieckert?

Many thanks,

First time I’ve heard it with this rig and I can’t imagine it sounding any better.
I think I'm living in a rock 'n' roll fantasy!
