What used speakers raraely come up for sale

Lets keep it under $7,000 used, but interested to hear what used speakers rarely get listed for sale because they are so sought after and if they do appear they get snapped up very quickly?  Cheers

Spout I will jump into Diapason Adamantes if I don’t have them, Omega Super Alnico High Output....
I could add the Lawrence audio Violins, should be below your price point used.I’ve never heard them but have spoken to about a dozen people that have including the 4 dealers in America.

I have no desire to buy any monitors,I already own their Double Bass speakers but I would like to have a Listen and a look at them.

Kenny.
Beveridge 2SW-1 with the pair of original sub's! Rarely seen (or heard!). A great near-forgotten system! Direct-drive electrostatics - all you need is a preamp and source.
Lirpa Labs Liberty Freedom 1776 A-FY tower speakers are as rare as hen's teeth.

On ebay just about every used speaker is 'rare'. The three identical speakers down the page say so too.

Silverline SR17. Used to see them all the time, but not in the last 5 years.I guess they're really good.
I'll see your Proac Response 2 and raise you a 2.5! Love mine and will be hard to find better.
I second the adamantes. What a beautiful
and musical speaker. I waited 3 yrs to get mine. I’ll never sell them.
Focal 7v7.These aren't really a whole speaker, but a vintage midrange driver that extends quite low. They are considered by some in the know as one of the best if not "the" best all time high efficiency cone midrange driver. DIY er's had a field day with these years ago. They are one of the biggest sounding, most open sounding midrange I have heard.Part of their great  image "size"comes from the fact that they are a 7 inch midrange. If crossed over low enough in its upper range ,instrument with lots of obvious air volume like organ will literally bowl you over with their apparent size, (grand piano also). They have a very powerful magnet and transient response does not seem to  suffer over their size. They are I believe 97 db efficient and they make many paper cone midrangess sound distorted and like they are about to break up.Very rarely seen on here.A classic from the past that still holds up.

Audio Physic Scorpio. The original AP founder/designer left the company a decade ago. Speakers are easy to drive, tight clean base from four 7 inch woofers, 3-1/2 way.
Used should be $3-4k if you can find them. Also, attractive.

i see the good doctor in NY is doing audio reviews now.  The search for LF 1776 speakers has been likened to a witch hunt by some, but after a year, I’m not going to quit unless the boss fires me.
Dynaudio Special One. There is a black pair in Europe right now and that is about all I could find in the last couple of years. Dark brown ones have not been seen out of the first owner's home ever, so it seems. They are old, but it was the same when they were new.

You could add Dynaudio Special 25, but they come from time to time.

jahatl513,

There have been two pairs of Revel Performa3 208 on Audiogon recently. Both in immaculate shape. Brown one in February, black one a week, two, or three ago. Both from the same dealer in Fairfax, VA.
To: jdpalmer1/ + anyone else interested. There is a pair of ProAc Response 2.5’s in Mahogany for sale (local pick up only) in Portland OR for $1845...if anyone else is looking...they have been there several months.  Good people at Echo Audio.
And my 2¥, the Aerial Acoustics 5b, LSA Model 1 Statements, ( yeah, I waited about 2 hours too long for the last pair Insaw a couple weeks ago incredibly priced).  All tough to track down...

Cheers
Agree with the Silverline SR 17,s I've seen maybe one pair here on Audiogon in the last year and the Dynaudio Special 25,s at least 2 years since I've seen a pair here for sale.

Vandersteen Quattro,s  alot more frequently.

The Focal 7v7,s sound interesting.

Revox Agora b, and Meridian M2. Both active systems and superb.
Also Linn Isobarik bricks.
I am lucky enough to currently own all 3 pairs.
Wilson Benesch Chimera..seen for £5k recently, were £24k. Utterly fabulous. I had the Acts for 10years these are way better but same sound signature.
Silverline Bolero speakers  are rare and wonderful. Perfectly musical and the kind of speaker that one can stay contented with.  I miss mine.
Bache speakers is just coming to the  market, if you NJ, NYC
and  speakers lower, call  me or audiodoctor

Me too,Oh wait I’m listening to my pair with upgraded caps on the Esotar right now, such a wonderful musical speaker for sure, and they certainly don’t come up for sale very often at all.

Enjoy,
Kenny.
I would say Trenner and Friedl models other than the highly reviewed Sun monitor. People tend to hold on to those speakers.

Yes shame on you, that’s not what this thread is about at all and Manufacturers and dealers should never post like this.

I will also tell you that I was interested in one of your top speakers and was going to inquire about them, not now consider me a lost customer forever.

Kenny.
Kenny you need to excuse Mr. Belman Bache he is kind of new to the Gon.

We heard his speakers at the NY audio show and we were quite impressed so at this point he is going to bring them to evaluate and see how they stack up to the Quads, Kefs, and Paradigms and Legacys.

He really does mean well so you might want to give his products another shot if they interest  you.

He is but one of dozens of small passionate guys who make good speakers that may deserve a space in the market but are having difficulty connecting with possible buyers.

The sound at the NY show was quite special.

Ps I do agree with you that this was an inapproriate thread to chime in on and his point that perhaps a new set of speakers at $7k might sound  better than an older used $15k one.

In that light he might not have induced such ire.

Everyone loves a bargain  however this is a flawed thread. Because a speaker is rarely seen on the used market may mean that the speakers for whatever reason didnt sell.

So because brand x is rarely seen on the secondary market may mean very few were sold vs the conclusion everyone loved the product so much the owner never sold them.
I've long kept an eye out for Avalon Ascent Mk IIs. I think I've only seen these on A'gon a couple of times over the past 10+ years. At this point, probably need to consider the cost of recapping on top of purchase price.
Thanks for all the replies, its interesting researching all the speakers listed.  I was impressed with Sonner Audio monitors at the NY audio show a few years back, never seen any used for sale mind.
