Cardas vs. Cardas

Hello

Can anyone telle me the difference between Cardas Clear and Cardas Clear Light.

I run Claer speakercables and Clear from preamp to amps. But i`m missing one cable from cd to preamp and unfortnly the finaces is`nt to buy a Clear right now.....
Then i was thinking (it hapens some times), would the Cardas Clear Light be cheaper choice for me or is the sound way off compared to the Cardas Clear?

i have experimented with a number of cables, a rather subjective and neurotic pursuit in my audio addiction/hobby. Currently I have  and appreciate several Cardas cables... My experience is that the Clear Light is quite good in comparison to many other cables and is a good value for the $$. It does not compare well to the Cardas Clear... I suspect you can use Clear Light in your system and as long as you don't have a Clear in the same spot to compare it to, you will probably enjoy it...

The "Clear" is extremely balanced with little artifacts that I can detect, no smearing of the imaging and tonally clean, excellent low frequency response and detailed without harshness.  The Clear Light is very smooth and possibly a bit less dynamic.. It will be in the same family tree as your Clear...
The Clear Light sounded better than what I had before, I brought it home on approval form a local dealer and need up buying it... Great imaging and nice tonal balance at some increased $$ over my previous cables but does not seem as "live" as the Clear which reveals amazing detail, imaging and transparency... Nothing wrong with the Clear Light...  I have it in my system from a Bluesound Vault 2 which I use for convenience when entertaining...

If you want high resolution transparency then the Clear will provide it... at a much higher $$$...  This is of course all subjective to my own ears and system...  My ARC system, which seems quite revealing/sensitive to differences in cables, follows the logic that if you use your best cables at your source components you will be getting the best sound at the start of the signal path and unfortunately it is often slippery slope down that path after that...
My Clear cables come from my ARC CD player to my pre amp and when I first installed them, replacing another expensive yet far cheaper cable, I was shocked at the difference it made in my listening pleasure! (it's ALL about listening pleasure for me! )

My wife, who is not an audio junkie like me, but is a music lover, walked through the room after the Clear installation and said..."Is that a new CD your playing?" I said "No I just changed out a cable and now I am hearing things differently"... She walked on the to kitchen and then came back and said "how much did it cost?" I said "quite a lot actually"... She replied "Well, it certainly sounds really good!" and went back to the kitchen which adjoins my listening room...

Whewee,  I was both relieved and amazed at her response.
I can hardly wait until I can afford to go "Clear" between my pre and power amp... might be a while, she wants a new bathroom...

If you have the luxury of a dealer that allows you to audition a cable or two over a weekend or overnight you will probably find your answers the best way... with your gear, room and your own ears.  Remember to enjoy the music !
Should have proofed that... It should have said " I brought it home on approval from a local dealer and ended up buying it"
To the average person, $50 would be "quite a lot actually" for a 1m piece of wire.  We audiophools have gotten over the sticker shock, so 2k seems quite normal if you don't think too much.  I'm not even talking about the 5-15k 1m ICs floating around out there.
Chayro - not really sure what your comment has to do with the OP's question. Look under ; Cables as there are many posts and responses to your point that will never be answered although many self professed experts have tirelessly tired to push their opinion on this site. It has got to be very old.....
