Speaker Width?
+1.  Herbie's gliders are excellent.  You don't necessarily need the giant fat ones.  The regular ones work very well on wood or tile floors.
3 things I learned from using MANY interconnect cables
I think he's saying that cables are listener dependent.  Can't argue with that.
Ayre cx 8 cd player
Interesting.  Is it possible that people are getting tired of the streamers, NAS, complicated remotes, etc?  IMO, it's nice to just pop in a disc and listen, isn't it?  I'm sure this will have all the other capabilities too, but I am pleasantly su...
Looking for more transparency.
I had the Mapleshade cables - the cheapest ones as I recall and they were definitely on the bright side for my taste, but not so much so.  I think they might work well in a dark-sounding system to liven things up.  Cables aren't tone controls?  Th...

If you get the Morrows, have them do the break in for you. I know many say it is BS and they have the right to their opinions, but I had the SP3s a few years back and they were virtually unlistenable.  I sent them back for a break in and they were...

Ok, but I'm not paying for them if they don't help. :)What did you get?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Cardas speaker cables.  I don't know which ones you have, but some were noted for being on the softer side and often used to tame brighter systems..  The newer models are supposedly more transparent, but I have n...
reel to reel tapes
I also have a box of 7" tapes I made probably in the 80's.  I think mostly jazz stuff like Clifford Brown, Art Blakey that I copied from LPs using my Technics 1200 and Denon 103.  I recall they sounded rather good.  I was thinking of giving them a...
Esoteric X-01 Limited vs X-05
I'm probably in the minority here, but I owned an X-05 a few years back and I couldn't wait to get rid of it.  Sound was dry and harmonically threadbare and so bad on CD I bought a Bel Canto dac to use while I was attempting to break it in.  Maybe...
Can I use the Walker Audio precision motor controller with the Avid Volvere turntable?
Walker will tell you.  They are very responsive to questions.
Finger Prints on Records
Residual Oil Remover (ROR) made for cleaning fine camera lenses, works well on vinyl records, as well as many surfaces such as plexiglas, tv screens, etc.  It leaves an absolutely clean finish.
MQA CDs
The original Pidgeon CD was of exceptional recording quality, so I have no doubt that the MQA version sounded good as well.  I would hope Chesky wouldn't remix an MQA release for the purpose of duping buyers, but you never know.
The Tragic Decline of Music Literacy (and Quality)
I’m paraphrasing here, but Russ Kunkel, one of the best drummers of our time (James Taylor, Stevie Nicks and a million other hit records) was asked if he could read music and his answer was "Not well enough to hurt my playing." An interesting answ...
OMG OMG OMG Harbeth M30.1 INCOMING!!!A Few Questions For Owners
Freediver - yeah, Fritz are really great.  I have a pair of Fritz clones of the Totem Model 1, that I like better than the Totems I also own.  Actually they're so similar, I could part with either one.  Hope the 30s work out for you.
OMG OMG OMG Harbeth M30.1 INCOMING!!!A Few Questions For Owners
I am a big Harbeth fan, but I had bad luck with the M30s.  They just wouldn't work in my room.  I'm not a bass addict by any means, but they sounded like they were missing everything from 80hz on down.  Couldn't fix it.  However, the HL5s worked g...
