My Fisher XP66c Speakers Went To The Dump Today
No, I couldn't.  Goodwill won't take electronics. Even an ad on LetGo got no responses. Ditto Craigslist for $20. Nobody wants big speakers - though these aren't that big. They all want tall, skinny, home theater types.Either that or they're high-...
My Fisher XP66c Speakers Went To The Dump Today
After all these years, I finally get around to Googling them. Vintage 1973, according to Radiomuseum. Can't find the original price, but I found the spec sheet in German. And then there's this Youtube, where they really, really sound awful.https:/...

Used Korean Speakers
For some reason, I am doubting that you actually heard these speakers. Unless maybe you are Dennis Rodman.
Used Korean Speakers
The driver array is mounted in some kind of horn structure, like a Tractrix, and it reminds me of old cinema setups. Then multiple units are spread out over hundreds of feet, maybe miles. Are the drivers 15"? Full range or coaxial? I can't tell. Th...

Tune of the Day
Gerald Wilson - "Lotus Land" was today's tune. But in keeping with the spirit of the thread, yesterday I listened to "Elementals" in the car, on cassette! no less. Sort of a lo-fi experience.
Over time, with playing constant playing, do vinyl records wear out?
Yes, records will wear. The heavier the stylus force, the more wear, too. But it's gotta have enough force to track. If you listen carefully to the cymbals, you may notice a reduction in volume after 30-40 plays. After 100, it's definitely noticeab...
Long lost songs
@dweller - the version you are looking for may be the "live" verion from "Got Live If You Want It", which was supposedly all "live", but now they tell us had some alternate studio tracks with dubbed applause. If I remember, the pace was way faster...
What are you favorite artists and songs to listen to on your system?
My memory may have slipped, but I think it's "Songs for a Tailor", dedicated to Richard Thompson's girlfriend, Jeannie Franklyn, who was killed when the Fairport Convention bus crashed in 1969.It's a great album.
Nokie Edwards
There's a good reason to take cruise. Nu-surf and old surf on the same bill. Did they play with each other or just separately? That would be awesome to see them jam together.
Greatest Rock Drummers
There is never a single "best" in any art form. Both Hendrix and Segovia are great, but they can't be compared to each other. The same is true of painters, composers, writers, etc. It's not a foot race where one will have the best time - these peo...
Any NPR Tiny Desk Studio Concert.... lovers ? on youtube
I thought it was a Slim Harpo tune. The Stones did it a bit differently, though.
Any NPR Tiny Desk Studio Concert.... lovers ? on youtube
Strangely enough, I have never heard one of these on the radio, and I listen to NPR regularly, both in the car and at home.I only see them on Youtube. Why is that, I wonder? Not all of them are good, but some are fantastic.
