audiotroy, no sour grapes at all. Carrying T+A as a brand didn't work out for either of us and that's fine. And, to be clear, I'm not knocking T+A at all. I highly respect T+A as a quality brand. In fact, on another forum in the past few days, whe...

The Bel Canto ACI600 is $25K USD, but I'm talking about the less expensive new Bel Canto Black EX at $14,990 USD. Definitely a fair comparison.

Agreed that the T+A PA 2500 R is a great sounding piece, but I personally feel the Bel Canto Black EX integrated sounds a chunk better for sure. The Bel Canto has more body and fullness with the same level of resolution and drives the bottom end w...

Yes, I believe the Wireworld Gold Eclipse 7 XLR would work. I'm a huge fan of the GutWire UNO-S XLR myself. The best I've used. In regards to the T+A R1000E, I'm sure it would work nicely, but not in the league of the Bel Canto Black EX. It is les...

We haven't had it for a very long period of time,so I haven't tried it with a wide variety of models. Love it with the ATC SCM40. Also tried it briefly with Dynaudio Special Forty and Alta Audio Lelantos. Performed very well with all three.

I'm a big fan of your first listed choice, the Bel Canto Black EX integrated. It's what I run in my own system. Disclosure: I'm a Canadian dealer. The Bel Canto Black EX isn't analytical sounding at all. The signature is neutral to just slightly wa...
MA9000 VS MA8900
A couple of potential options if you don't mind hearing of something outside of McIntosh. You're mentioning initially about some fantastic integrated amps including the T+A 3100HV. I used to the have the T+A integrated just below it in my system, ...
If You Like Funk: Check Out Vulfpeck
I'm with frogman on this one. His description of lightweight and bubble-gummy is pretty dead-on for me. Just not my thing. Everyone's tastes are different, and that's all good.
If You Like Funk: Check Out Vulfpeck
I agree that this sounds more like Jackson 5 than funk. If you want funk, check out the guy known as the "funkiest man alive", Rufus Thomas.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp-rn-jyWfk
Best sounding compact integrated amp < $2k?
Based on the original post, the Belles Aria wouldn't work as it is too deep as well by the time you want to make cable connections and no option for streaming. I still stand by my suggestion of the Hegel H90. Size fits, built-in DAC and full strea...
Best sounding compact integrated amp < $2k?
The Parasound doesn't meet his criteria at all.
Furutech GTX NCF receptical break in, how long
Don't give up on it. It takes some time. Easily the best receptacle I've used.
Best sounding compact integrated amp < $2k?
Within your budget the Hegel H90 is a great choice. It will give you great amplification, DAC and Ethernet input for your streaming as well. We pair the Dynaudio Special Forty with its big brother the Hegel H190 and the pairing is spectacular, in ...
My Long List of Amplifiers and My Personal Review of Each!
Tried the Bel Canto Black EX integrated versus the Hegel HD30 DAC and H30 amp today. Very close! Totally, the Bel Canto is a touch warmer. The Hegel combo probably has the slight edge in power and dynamics, but I felt the Bel Canto Black EX had sl...
Just Got My Oppo 205!
The Oppo needs time, but if it's anything like the 105, it still isn't going to be some sort of giant killer from its analogue outs. For me, I've always used a lower player as a transport with a DAC. For quite a while now, I've been using the 103 ...
