Scansonic MB2.5 floor stander speaker. Does it complete with often speaker at $3500??
We fed them with high quality gear and placement well away from room boundaries and still no luck. I can see where some may like the sound, but they weren't for us at all and we felt they didn't live up to the hype. We really wanted to like them a...
Scansonic MB2.5 floor stander speaker. Does it complete with often speaker at $3500??
We tried a pair of the MB2.5 from a distributor to see if we might want to carry the line. We did extended break-in of the speakers, since the distributor said they probably only had about 100 hours of play. So, we proceeded to put on probably ano...
Class D = Trash?
northernfox: we've been super impressed with the Bel Canto REF600M as well. They're a huge step up from the old REF500M in my opinion. We're currently driving them in one of our demo systems being fed by the Bel Canto DAC3.7. An excellent combinat...
Bluesound Vault 2 or Node 2?
There are a lot of great audiophile options if you want to go higher than Bluesound as well. We use Melco Digital Music Libraries. The Melco N1A is a very popular unit. There are plenty of pieces as well from companies like Aurender, Lumin and more.
Hooking up Sonos to Hegel 360
Is there a reason to bother connecting the Sonos to the H360? I would imagine that you should be able to access the music you need via the Ethernet input of the H360.
Bluesound Vault 2 or Node 2?
The Vault 2 does require an Ethernet connection, but the Node 2 can be used via wifi. Your existing network cable should work absolutely fine with the Vault 2. It all comes down to how you want to store your music. The Vault 2 gives you an easy st...
To Bi-Wire or use Jumpers?
There's no one answer that will be correct for every application and speaker out there, but more often than not, the money spent on a single run and quality jumper will outperform two lesser sets of speaker cables. I'm very much in agreement with ...
Bel Canto S300 vs Bel Canto Ref 500 S
Definitely pay the extra for the REF500S. It's quite a step up from the S300. It is only 50W per channel more powerful than the S300 at 200W per channel into 8 ohms, but it uses a newer and better sounding ICEpower module, it has their impedance o...
MF A308 vs Simaudio Celeste 4150se w/ Polk LSi9
You're talking about two different types of components. The MFA308 is an integrated amplifier and the Celeste is a straight power amplifier, not an integrated amp. So, while the Celeste is cheaper, you'll also need a preamp.
Looking for music streamer/server...Is a Macbook Pro better than a Sony Hap Z....
Yes sbank, a NAS and streamer into a DAC as you're suggesting works very well. It can also come down to how technically savvy someone is as well. The problem I have with Macs or PCs is the knowledge and tweaking it takes to sound their best. To ge...
Looking for music streamer/server...Is a Macbook Pro better than a Sony Hap Z....
I wouldn't go with a Mac or PC either. Computers, with all the capabilities they entail, are prone to a lot of problems from a sound quality perspective. More dedicated pieces on the audio side will sound better and will be easier to use as well. ...
Scansonic mb serie
We really wanted to like the MB2.5 as we were considering the line from a distributor we already have a relationship with. The price, size and look of them is all very attractive. We tried out a pair that had about 100 hours on them and proceeded ...
Opinions: Joseph Audio Pulsar vs Dynaudio Conficence C1 vs Totem Element Fire vs ?????
Same size room, same Hegel 360....speakers ATC SCM19. Disclosure, I'm an ATC dealer in Canada, but maybe someone near you in Texas carries them. Sounds like the perfect solution for you. Being sealed, it is way more room friendly in this smaller r...
Bruce Cockburn - dancing in the dragons claws great listen!
Excellent album. I'd recommend the remastered version from 2002. The one from 1979, while a very nice listen, is fairly rolled off on the top. The remaster fixes this without being bright or aggressive at all.
Auralic aires / aires mini
Bixx, the Bluesound Node 2 gives you both coax and toslink digital outputs.
