My Long List of Amplifiers and My Personal Review of Each!
jafant was asking about the Bel Canto Black EX integrated when we get it in. Well, we just received the first one in Canada. Even with only a few hours, I'm incredibly impressed! Like whitecamaross said with the ACI 600 and full Black System, the ...
My Long List of Amplifiers and My Personal Review of Each!
jafant, the new Bel Canto Black EX integrated amp is $15,000 USD ($19,500 CAD). 250W per channel into 8 ohms, 500W into 4 ohms. A pile of great features (as per the Bel Canto Black ACI 600) including bass management, Bass EQ, Tilt control, Etherne...
My Long List of Amplifiers and My Personal Review of Each!
The Bel Canto Black lineup is absolutely incredible. I'm not shocked by this at all. The new Bel Canto Black EX integrated is on its way to us. I expect this to be a superb piece as well.
HEGEL HD 30 NEED PREAMP
We drive a Hegel H30 amp directly with a HD30 DAC and the result is fantastic. However, we haven't tried it with a high end preamp to compare. In my opinion, if running a digital only system, instead of spending the money on a preamp, you can use ...
Rel S3 subwoofer connection options?
larseand, I have a new Longbow I'm clearing out as I'm no longer carrying REL. I also have a 8 foot high quality cable for REL subs made for us by GutWire that I'm clearing out as well. Both are great options if the GutWire is long enough for you.
Solid state DAC under 12K retail preferably with ethernet
The Hegel HD30 and the new Bel Canto Black EX DAC that will be out shortly could be great options for you with Ethernet. As mentioned earlier as well, the T+A R series player/DACs also have Ethernet.
Alta Audio speakers--anyone heard them?
We're a fairly new Canadian dealer for Alta Audio. We haven't heard the Titanium Hestia's yet. We currently have the Lelantos and IO in stock. Both are excellent speakers. Full extended bass for the money with good levels of detail, but not analyt...
All in one solution for bedroom system. Suggestions from all appreciated.
I agree that the Bluesound Powernode 2 is an excellent piece. It won't match something like the Hegel Rost in terms of sound quality, but at its price point, it is really very impressive.
All in one solution for bedroom system. Suggestions from all appreciated.
Sorry, you have the wrong guy. We're a dealer in Canada. I hope you find a good match. I believe your speakers are supposed to be an easy drive, so you have lots of options.
All in one solution for bedroom system. Suggestions from all appreciated.
Sounds like a Hegel Rost would be a perfect match. Disclosure: we're a Hegel dealer. However, there are a number of similar options such as the Simaudio Ace and many more that would have plenty of power for those speakers with good built-in DACs, ...
Computer, CD transport or Network Player?
mewsickbuff, optimizing a computer for superior playback involves the reduction or elimination of as much as possible that's not audio related. Uninstalling as much a possible, turning off a wide variety of system services, etc. That's why I don't...
Computer, CD transport or Network Player?
Agree that you can go any route provided, but, with respect to shadorne, I disagree that there is no difference. Even with DACs that handle jitter extremely well, I've still heard the differences between the options mentioned by mewsickbuff. How m...
Computer, CD transport or Network Player?
I prefer not having a computer in the system. For myself, I use a Melco N1A/2 Digital Music Library with USB out going to my DAC. That has been my favourite so far. Disclosure: we're Melco dealers, so you can take that with a grain of salt if you ...
Good sounding head unit / NAV for car?
I have a Kenwood Excelon DVD/Garmin NAV unit that I've had for a couple of years now. I do like the sound a lot and am able to play up to 24/192 FLAC files as well. The 13 band EQ also allowed me to tame a big 60Hz hump in my bass. I'd highly reco...
