Securing Monitors to a stand
I wrap a small strap around my speaker to anchor it to the stand. I'm not too concerned with the speaker finish.
Whats playing on your system today?
Nothing nothing on today...traveling for Xmas. But just picked up a bunch of new vinyl at the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis, so lots of new music to listen to when we get home.
NEED ADVISE ON AN AMPLIFIER TRANSACTION
It's winter here in the North, so my advice is to have the buyer pay for a return ticket to his city, and a weeks stay at a beach hotel. You can then inspect and pick up the piece in person.short of that, return the buyers money only upon receipt ...

jtsnead - I purchased an LS27 about 2 years ago. I had it in a home demo up against my Ayer K-5XE mp. The LS27 crushed the Ayer in every way that mattered to me, it wasn't even close. But then the LS27 cost about twice what the Ayer did.

A pair of Pass amps have come up for sale...how would XA160.5 mono blocks pair with Cremona's? Overkill? Would the Cremona's be up to these great amps?
Tube Physics Question
The old AMC Gremlin with the 350 small block in it was a hoot, came that way from the factory. But I digress.

Thanks guys. The Classe amps have bi-polar output, and I like a mountain of bass, or maybe more precisely I like bass that will rattle the foundations when it's in the music, so I'll stand pat for now. Hmmm, maybe those Olympics III's or maybe the...

Is anybody powering their Cremonas with the Ref 150 or some other tube power amp? What is your experience? My Classe monoblock have great bass, generally sound sound good, but can have a hard edge in the upper mids. Maybe that's the speaker or the...
Appalachian Spring
Thanks for the recommendations. The only recording that I have is a 1987 London cd of a 1976 performance by the LA Philharmonic; very engaging but I want to get a full analog LP.
Tube Physics Question
The question from the op is really interesting; can anyone address it? Does the KT120 compress the signal, while the KT88 does not?

By the way, my CD collection also sits there lonely and unplayed since we swung back into analog in a big way.
