Ps Audio BHK preamp Vs ARC best preamps
I've owned the LS27. It was decent in my system. I now own the BHK pre and for me it was a step up. In particular when paired with the PS Audio phono stage, it brought more life to my vinyl rig then I've ever heard. Joe
Romex and breaker switches
Make sure when you say "dedicated"' that it means all three legs are running directly back to the box. Many electricians will share the neutral, which is legal but undesired for audio purposes. Joe
Dan D'Agostino Helius dual monoblocks, 1500w @ 8ohms
No ones even mentioned this thought; Maybe some of us have a limited range of hearing! Oh my! Could you be one of those? Really, I go to audio shows and super expensive speakers and amps don't do anything for me. Maybe, just maybe my ears aren't t...
Sister's wants music system without the hassles!
lalitk, Yes, your recommendation is likely most suitable (minus the subwoofer perhaps). As I tell my wife "it doesn't cost anything to discuss it before spending the money". My suggestion is the only one of its type here, making it valid. And, it'...
Sister's wants music system without the hassles!
who's to say that your sister wouldn't be happy with a system costing well under $1000.00? One of the best buys out there are second hand home theater receivers. They tumble in price and can be had cheap! I see a lot of Onykos and Yamahas for sale...
Why do my new Transparent cables make my system sound muffled?
As a former Transparent owner I have a story to tell. I owned the original Transparent Reference back in 1996. Balanced throughout. It was the most incredible sound I've ever heard. Speakers were Snell Type B with a Krell 20i CD player. Amp and pr...
Classe Audio rises again
I also own a CP500 and a CA2200. I've owned 2 CP800's as well. I was curious as to if I could hear or see a difference between the two. They were identical in appearance as well as sonically. I understand a companies need to outsource to survive. ...
Really satisfied???
Hey Tottootedtrackman, Nice to see that people are still using and enjoying the Krell 20i. I was a proud owner of one. The only reason I sold it was because I was afraid that Krell wouldn't be able to repair them down the road. It sounded fantasti...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
Nobody seems to include the "lowly" Snell Type B speaker to this list. I have a pair. I picked them up used for the ridiculous price of $675.00!!! I needed to replace four of the midwoofers which added $300.00 to the cost. They sound like new. The...
Missing shipment
Hi joecasey, Because without someone signing for it, who says it was delivered at all? Even though the USPS says so, Paypal will side with the buyer IF seller can't provide proof of receipt. Even if insurance is bought and a signed receipt is at h...
Missing shipment
I always thought the package was the shippers responsibility until delivered safely to the recipient. If a buyer says he didn't receive something, isn't the shipper required to show proof of the shipment? It's what Paypal says that matters. They'r...
Is this an ugly speaker? TAS cover 10/2017
I can picture a cat scaling these things. ( This happened to a friend 35 years ago with a pair of Maggies).
The longest you have owned any gear?
Polk Model 10A from 1979. They're in my home theater system now. I still use a Burwen Research 1201A for filtering hiss when I dub LP's to disc. A 1977 Army purchase!
Why do Asian looks for old Wadia CDP at high price?
This is a really good question. I think it pertains to a lot more than just Wadia CD players. I wonder if even the people in question even know why they like them. Maybe the name is appealing to them in their language? I have an LP by a man named ...
