First Post Looking for Integrated Amplifier
Some int. amps have a dedicated subwoofer rca out. I believe on the Nad 326Bee it's a single out which would connect into your subwoofer. Some subwoofer's like my def. Tech has dual (R/L) rca inputs. So, it's perfect for my 302 which now has an RC...
CAL ICON MKII CD player replacement
I should of said I owned the Cal. I sold it many yrs. ago, but I still remember it well! Sounded better than the Denon DCD-1500 mk2 which it replaced.
CAL ICON MKII CD player replacement
I own and enjoyed the Icon Mk2 for many years. A warm, mellow cdp w/good bass. I presently own a Rotel RCD-971 which I believe is a superb CDP. However, it is an older unit and you may be trading one problem/issue for another. I've heard good thin...
First Stereo System Help
Just be aware the 15.2 is the previous model. The new model which just came out is the 15.3. If I were to consider the 15.2 it would have to be around $400 new. You may be able to get a "demo" 15.3 for $420 here on AgoN. Let us know what you think...
First Stereo System Help
I don't know if it's still available but, LP Gear.com has listed on their website a new silver Brio 3 for $449. I saw another website which has them @ $499. You may want to check out.

You will need a pre-amp out rca's w/you're int. amp. I know the Nad 326BEE has them but the 316BEE does not. I'm running a small NAD 302 which is rated 20w per ch. and does a fine job w/my bookshelf spks. I'm using a Definitive Tech sub w/this sys...
First Stereo System Help
If you're really set on the Rega fono mini, i'd just go ahead and buy a Rega Brio 3. I saw a website which has a new silver one for a very attractive price. (But please note no headphone jack on the Rega. IMO, you'd get more bang for buck buying a...
First Post Looking for Integrated Amplifier
I would look for an NAD, Marantz PM6004 (New $399) or if phono is really important to you, prehaps a Rega Brio 3. (No headphone jack on the Rega though.) I'm using a little NAD 302 Int. amp which is a VERY nice sounding and has plenty of juice at ...
$1500 for a whole system, budding audiophile
I'd buy it all used unless I got a great deal on new equipment. I'd get an int. amp and some floorstanders which have great bass. (Paradigm comes to mind.) For a source, tuners are cheap and plentiful. Same for CD players. $300 int. amp., $3-400 s...
Wiring main panel box for dedicated 20amp line.
A sub panel would be wired via a 4 conductor wire (10-3 w/ground for 30a or 6-3 w/ground for 50a.) BUT the neutral and ground of this wire would go to the same neutral/ground bus bar in your main panel box so I don't see any gain or difference unl...
New speakers for an old receiver
Once owned the 2218B and agree it had a warmer sound. Therefore, I personally would match it up w/an efficient and neutrel sounding loudspeaker. I have a gut feeling the KEF C300 would make a very good pairing. I'd bring the receiver in to an audi...
Midfi Sleeper Suggestions...2nd systems, etc....
PSB Century 300i bookshelf spks. are exc. Vifa D19 tweeter. Beautiful tonality. Engaging spk. Always wanted to try out B&W DM 305 floorstanders b/c of their paper woofer and soft dome tweeter. Mission also had some wonderful older offerings. T...
Looking to get my first amp, speakers and turntabl
I'd take a little trip to the DC area and check out the dealers there. I'm assuming you prefer floorstanders vs. bookshelf spks. Paradigm has exc. spks. current and former models which would serve you well. (PSB's as well.) I'd personally get a re...
A Novices Impression of the Sony DVP-S9000ES
I'll tell you about some really great affordable spk. wire which I'm using right now. I had to order it from England but the cost of shipping was reasonable and the wire is really, really good. Atlas Equator mk2. Very pure copper 6N and roughly 14...
A Novices Impression of the Sony DVP-S9000ES
Read your article just now. That's a nice looking Sony. $175 sounds like a steal BUT, keep a spare if parts are no longer available. Same goes for the 855. Phillips CDM-4 transport I believe. The 855 lacks a certain refinement, IMO. But, in this c...
