A little Patience sometimes pays off! (Kef LS50 content) Some speakers take a long time to settle in as while as room placement. Some sellers list speakers for sale before really hearing their full potential. Also, pairing equipment can make a world of difference. I can't presume to tell you what spk. c...
The awakening... Just for fun bought a Zero-Zone tube pre-amp ($40), swaped out the tubes and bought a regulated power supply. Paired w/a Parasound Zamp. Fantastic!. The magic is there but you could most certainly hear it's limitations. Very pleasurable to listen ...
can anyone help me........ Your player from what I've seen online uses 2 TDA 1305T's and CDM-9 transport. Rotel RCD- 970BX uses same transport but w/1 TDA 1305T. I'd do some looking to see what other players uses this combination. Maybe you could savage a CDM-9 from other u...
B&W DM 640 Tower Speakers- Decent? If you can get a pr. for $250, don't hesitate and buy them. They retailed for around $1500 I believe in their day. I owned this spk. and I liked them very much. (Driven by NAD seperates and Vintage Kenwood KA-7100.) I wish I never sold them. They ...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period? Absolutely! My QED Signature Spk. wire sounded pretty good from the start but it wasn't till about 150+ hrs. when "it" happened. Glorious sounding cable especially for it's very modest price.
New TV: what to do with TOSLINK optical output I've been using OREI Da34 Digital to Analog converter. Works just fine. Paid around $50. Problem solved. Bill.
Looking for a reasonably priced good quality interconnect You could make a very nice set w/Neotech wire or you could order some Furutech ADL Alpha Line-1 for $81 1m pr. Wonderful sounding cables.
Best preamp (used or new) under $350??? I'm using the Schiit SYS and I'm most pleased w/it. Before purchasing the SYS, I considered the Tisbury and the Zpre2. If you can find a Rotel RC-972 pre-amp I strongly suggest you purchase. I've owned a few Rotel pre-amps and IMO, the RC-972 is f...
Request advice-need "brighter" speakers than Totem Hawks Hi Bruce. I've found w/speaker burn-in that the mids and lows develop more fullness/bloom. Haven't really noticed treble becoming more pronounced but certainly more refined and smoother. (You have to be patient and also not move cables around as t...
Update power cord This is what I would do first before adding a Chassis IEC socket to your amp (unless you're able to do yourself). Go buy a Furutech FI-15ME AC plug. Install on your fixed cord and I think you will find the results very satisfactory. I've done this...
Recos for entry level Bookshelf speaker $400-750 for 21yo nieces first system? Own the PSB Image B4's and they are very impressive sounding small speakers. Fit and finish first class. Used under $200 pr. if you can find a pr. for sale. Rear ported. Check out the Imagine Mini as well.
speaker and interconnects, how nice do I need Before trying anything else....order some Canare 4s8 speaker wire and make your own cable. Super inexpensive and I was impressed by how good my little Dynaudio Dm 2/6 sound w/this wire. As far as interconnents, make your own. I made some using Mog...
Douk Audio. Any experience with any of their products? Well... Today I took out the Chinese 12AU7 tubes which came w/the unit and put in the 1958 RCA tubes that I bought recently just for this pre-amp/buffer. Night and day difference for the better. What a great way to experience such musical sound fo...

Douk Audio. Any experience with any of their products? Last night set up my Dug Mei AV-21 I bought from Doukaudio. (Using as pre-amp on top of my Adcam 5002 amp driving Dynaudio DM2/6 spks.) In a word...superb sound. I bought on Ebay an inexpensive input swicher box (JVC) which I will use between my C... |
