How much difference will a phono stage upgrade make?
I have Dialogue HP INT also.I would never use a tube phono stage. (YMMV haha!)Many people who should know say tubed phono = too much distortion. You don’t want my suggestion, but Sutherland 20/20 w/ PL Dialogue HP sounds pretty fine IMO.
Do you ever do this before you listen?
If you have normal eustachian tubes you don't need to do this.Middle ear pressure is equalizing to atmospheric frequently, like every time you swallow. And you don't even notice because the pressure differential is minimal. When you notice popping...
Big speakers in small room at moderate volume levels
That’s a small room.If you have full range speakers that put out much bass it wouldn’t matter if you listen at low volume. the bass/mid/treble balance will still be overpowered by the bass. I have an 11’ x 13’ x 8’ room and Revel F206 were just ri...
Need a Record Brush. Got a recommendation?
Sounds crazy but ticks and pops are super distracting to me so with much trepidation I forked for a Furutech Destat 3 ($389). I also use a goat hair brush that has a conductive coating (I forget the name). I tried many of the other brushes and the...
Power Conditioners: Audioquest Niagara 5000 or Shunyata Denali 6000S
I started a "Do I need a Conditioner" thread a while back and looked into all the suggestions.  Decided on Equitech balanced power transformer. Had used older Shunyata and PS Power Plant. Equitech is much better. Shunyata cleaned it up but sucked ...

If you want to understand the problem of contaminated power and how to clean it up, I suggest you study the information presented here. https://www.equitech.com/lifting-the-grounding-enigma/
Best vinyl purchases based on pressing, studio production, sound quality and enjoyment.
Hey Knollbrent, So I got "The Wonderful Sound of Female Vocals" per your recommendation and you weren't exaggerating. It is freaking spectacular IMHO. So thanks again. It will end up costing me a pretty penny because now I'm gonna have to pick up ...

"The Wonderful Sounds of Female Vocals. (Various artists, 200 gram QRP" Thanks for the tip.Anything by Kevin Grey and QRP is likely to be very very good.So I grabbed a copy off Amazon.Analogue Productions has the best LP packaging out there, but ...
LOUNDSPEAKER FOR $10,000.00 PER PAIR
+1 on the Revels.I've had Triton 2+ and 3+. I like the Revel better. Have F52, F206, F208 and now the M128Be. Heard Focal at an audio show. All good speakers. But F228Be is the correct answer IMHO.
Which Subwoofer would you choose?
I've had bad luck with used subs. Think I picked up 3 or 4 defectives off craigslist over time. The likelihood that a sub has been over driven and damaged is not insignificant. My policy now is new subs only.
Prima Luna Integrated - EL34, KT88, KT150, Brimar AU - My experience
Cifte retake: Cifte top end is  pretty hot so the mids seems pretty recessed. In my setup anyway. They say the top cools off after 100 hrs. Not sure I'll make it that far.
Prima Luna Integrated - EL34, KT88, KT150, Brimar AU - My experience
I plugged in the Cifte today. First impression is more refined top end. sounds a little cleaner than the Brimar. So far I like it a lot.Been toying with the idea of using a solid state preamp via home theater bypass. Tried a vintage Threshold SL10...

homer skins: You have the JL as master and ML as slave so you can use the JL autoEQ for both?
How much should a person spend to get a decent power conditioner?
@folkfreak Thank you for clarification. I have 4 separate rack mount ETs running 4 separate systems so no risk for the difficulties you encountered.BTW previously had PS Powerplant PPP. Could only use on front end. Not enough power for amp. Cleane...

OK, you convinced me to try the Cifte.Just the 2 middle tubes for now. (= $290 out the door. Ouch!) Got the extra 4 Brimar a couple weeks ago for the outer tube positions, but liked it better with the Mullard I already had. Am thinking all Cifte m...
