How important is it for you to attain a holographic image?
rvpiano, I treat the term 'ignorant' as a pejorative one, and would typically use 'uninformed' in its place if I had to use any at all. You’ve never posted anything that caused me to think in that context when reading your posts. I saw your posts ...

+2 geoffkait. I think most folks have not actually heard a system with a potential to reproduce ’real’ holographic soundstage, just as I think there are dammed few recordings which contain the necessary information to produce one.orpheus10, "let m...

Orpheus10, Out of curiosity, what is the brand of the 'new' tube?

Orpheus10, This may be of absolutely no help to you at all, but Telefunken machinery was purchased by EI ('yugos') before the 'war' and they made tubes with the sonic signature of the Tele's. I've used 12AU7A as well as 12AX7a, the latter of which...

Talking about Rachmaninoff doing Rachmaninoff ...Telarc made two recordings of piano rolls performances by Rachmaninoff doing his own works for solo piano on one CD and the works of others on a second one. The CD's are titled 'A Window in Time'. A...

Amazing isn’t it that you heard this effect on your ’in polarity’ system. Or did you hear it on one with reverse polarity? Or did you hear it at all? Maybe my old system also had reverse polarity, ergo why this record sounded so fine, and on my pr...

"I've never seen record with holographic image stamped on  it ……"Opus 3 has a disc titled 'Depth of Image', which can excel at portraying a 'holographic image', but it is so good unless you have already heard it under optimum conditions, you might...

If you haven't already, you might enjoy Berman's  performance of Liszt's 'Annes' on DG. One of the best I think, although it is hard to find a performance I don't enjoy.

yeti42  It helps to widen the sweet spot if you turn your speakers inward so the axis' crosses in front of your head when you are in the sweet spot.

rvpiano, I too find that smaller forces 'image' better than large orchestral ones, probably due to the relatively simpler recording procedures that can be used. What I miss in my system that I experience live is a room 'fullness' caused, I believe...

I think it would be helpful if those who have created this optimum imaging in their own home (called holographic) would list the recordings they have heard which can reveal this imaging. FWIW, I think there are not so many, but it would be fun, fo...
Well... guess I have to jump in the rabbit hole of speaker cables... lol
FWIW, I agree with Stevechamp. Cables are not your problem, and certainly the Belden 10 ga is not a problem which another cable is likely to solve. If anything I suspect that other cables will exacerbate the problem. I have been using the Belden f...
Noise problem as tube amp warms up
In one channel or both (from your post it sounds like one channel)? If in one channel swap the tubes from left side to right side. See if noise changes channel. If it does just replace the offending tube (which you identify by then switching only ...
Classical Music: Dorian Label
I have and enjoy solo piano music by Antonin Kubalek on Dorian, especial his 2 volumes of Brahms. He has a number of solo piano recordings I also have and enjoy, ’Czech Miniature Masterpieces’, ’My gift to you’ (piano Encores), ’Tchaikovsky’s Seas...
Suggested Recording of Korngold Violin Concerto?
One of my favorite recordings of this work is in the Dorian label wherein Litton conducts the Dallas SO with Ulrike-Anima Mathe (v) playing the VC. This recording also includes an excellent Sinfonietta in B Major.
