JBL everest?
Everersts are shown routinely in HK rooms at shows where they do not do well, in my opinion. K2s and 4367s have had the same fate. At RMAF Home Sound Audio was able to setup a pair of 4367s in a very shallow room and they were awesome. Again the a...
Revel Salon 2’s (used) or new Magico A-3 (new) ??
Even though the S3mkII lack the drama in scale and dynamics compared to the Salons, the Magicos have great tone. I find the Revels more threadbare. I don't know the A3 but don't see how it is not more restricted than the S3. Thanks for the LSAF re...
Hearing loss , speakers or headphones ?
The hd800 has a high frequency resonance issue mitigated by the 800S design. I’ve heard both. 800s is a really nice headphone. I think better control would be had using an equalizer.
Choice of Vandersteen models
I heard them before the stereophile review. I have heard a later version and the ct as well. First hand, I consider it a notable issue relating to the op question. I don’t google measurements to post them here.
Choice of Vandersteen models
The first version of the wood Quatro has a lower midrange suckout. Kind of like some older DM B&Ws but worse.
Still looking for speakers in the 10-20,000 range
I think fast summed up the KEF range well. The point of it has been point source imaging and soundstage with even off-axis sound, but they certainly have drawbacks. I have heard this line many times. I think fast has to decide if the KEF R3 is wor...
How thick should the front baffle of speakers be?
Mounting hardware is hype! I use gum. No difference.
Will an angled enclosure effect the sound of a passive radiator?
The linked pictures relay upper frequency response issues related to edge diffraction and loss of bass response also due to diffraction. I am confused with the post’s reference to "resonance" and "in the box". http://www.aes.org/aeshc/pdf/how.the....
RE: Finite Elements Cerabase Slimline Precision Audio Footers are Recommended
Do not know what aaudioimports has in stock, but Finite Elemente is out of business.

Audiokinesis Prisma is dynamic, tube friendly and very adjustable. http://www.audiokinesis.com/prisma.html
Shahinian Obelisk vs VandersteenTreo
Sorry, I did not clarify. Treos are good speakers. No problem with their extension; I find the LF is just not articulate. The quatros are better. I have heard the sub combo. It is not for me, so no argument there. The later quatros solve the midra...
Psychological effects of volume control
I once bought a used, more "sophisticated" preamp and encountered the same confusion; I was a monkey scratching its head. Mine has three volume controls, even worse. I sent it to Lamm to get it checked out, partly for the volume reason. You get use...
Shahinian Obelisk vs VandersteenTreo
Outside of hearing them I don't know.
Shahinian Obelisk vs VandersteenTreo
I would try to avoid the Quatros woods with lower midrange suckout. It is disctracting. I believe it is the first version. There is a later, non-CT iteration that did not have that problem. The quatros mostly solve the bass issue of the treos.
"Innovations" rooms at RMAF 2017
The Beinville Suite at Axpona was awesome. I wish I was going to RMAF to hear your demo. Good luck.
