Why so many wilson alexias for sale
cheche9  Heard hundreds of cheaper speakers I would buy over any Wilson. What speakers did you purchase?
Has anyone added a small subwoofer to 2 channel and been thrilled with the result?
@stuff_jones    Two subs or more actually improve imaging & coherency. Check out the AudiogoN discussion archives re: subs and room nodes.
Ahhh--Problem solved. Adding a REL sub-bass unit...
@ieales  Knock yourself out.   You're still wrong.    Best to insert IMO in every one of your posts.

2. A system with powered sub should use a XOver to remove the lowest frequencies from the mains and is preferrable ot trying to ’blend’. If the mains are capable of true 30Hz, IMO there is almost no need and even less probablity that adding su...

For decades we have been told that there are often serious, insurmountable integration issues, with both existing speakers and the room. Agreed! Currently, there still are those who spread the fear of trying subs. Yes, they can be a challenge to i...
Carver 275 Crimson tube amp --- any feedback appreciated
@angelgz2   The best place for your amp question would be at the Martin Logan owners forum. Even with their feedback, I still would recommend auditioning before purchasing. When I had e-stats years ago, I drove them with a 300w/ch SS amp - that do...
Corelli - really????
I’ve been experimenting with the Corelli in various places. Since I already have power conditioning on various digital and analog components, the Corelli’s influence can be too much sometimes when it shares a power strip. It’s as if the tone &...

Carver 275 Crimson tube amp --- any feedback appreciated
Correct. Tube amps primarily work best with speakers that have a higher sensitivity - in addition to a flat impedance curve. Many speakers have dips and spikes in the impedance curve at various frequencies that are not mentioned in the specs. The ...
Audiogon member suggestions for a speaker that sounds good at low volume!!!
A library is 44db. For a room that large, you might want to consider near-field listening with the speakers a few feet out from a corner. Also, the cleaner the power, the clearer the music at low level. Get the noise floor to disappear.Once I visi...
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
@atmasphere Your knowledge and experience is a welcome addition to this thread. The participation of any and all audio professional offers tremendous value to the rest of us. It’s always been AudiogoN’s position for any member to participate in an...
Affordable integrated pure class A?
b) that takes a lot of time Hobbies tend to do that. Or are you supposed to max out your card Been there. Don’t recommend it. ☹️ Or just do your research . . . knowing that the system is going to be so much better than anything you’ve owned . . ....
Affordable integrated pure class A?
Head-fi vs Hi-fi = different parameters. If the bookshelf speakers will actually be on a shelf - or close to the wall, the sound will be impacted. The full benefits of a Class A amp might not be realized. This leads to another discussion of what c...
