Quiet Enjoyment: right of audiophiles neighbors to NOT be annoyed
Elizabeth, your life listening experience certainly parallels mine. I surrendered my auditory future to Marshall amp stacks in the 60's and 70's. I'm glad my neighbors are not close by.  I have to turn up the volume to hear over my tinnitus. Was...

Elizabeth, your listening history parallels mine. I'm glad my neighbors are not close. I have too turn up my music to hear over my tinnitus.
Beware of the cable claiming long burn in period.
I'm not trying to be  completely negative or insulting concerning this subject. However, I am always interested in new advancements in audio. Cables included. I think comments positive or negative are a good balance to subjects that are controvers...

"Prove it?" Would't go there. You may challenged to pick out high end cable with the lights off. Better yet, pick out the same high end cable with various levels of burn in times. You are correct, talk is cheap.

Good point. "If you keep your eyes shut tight, I am certain you will not see anything.. either." With your eyes still closed ask yourself, can I hear the difference?

One poster wrote, " I had used Kimber PBJ for the 7 meter run, and back then, I never noticed any change but I was not looking for any". Interesting, that some people are looking for the change in sound. Perhaps if you were not  looking for a cha...
Small drivers vs big drivers
Many good points. All tech stuff aside, I had a pair of jbl 250ti's for many years. They were a 4 way speaker with 14" woofers. I sold they recently and bought a pair of Revel Salon 2's with 3, 8" woofers. The Revels are  better speakers in every w...
Only you expensive cable owners, is this real?
Really have to consider the size of the eye in the needle.
Is it time to just quit?
Elizabeth, thanks for the vote of confidence. It really can be somewhat of a lonely and misunderstood hobby at times. Trying to achieve highest level of realism that can bring in so much joy. I have found little improvements are big victories for ...
Is it time to just quit?
Thank you  Elizabeth for this post. You really hit on a subject I have not let myself really consider. The obsessiveness of my hobby. I have big $'s invested (no it's money spent on a depreciating asset). I am 63 and a victim of very loud concert...
Brilliant Pebbles, a new tweak, cheaper than high end cables.
Perhaps better noise reduction if the pebbles are placed in the ears?
Amp for Revel Ultima Studio 2s
I'm using McIntosh 601's and a c47 driving my Salon 2's. My listening room is somewhat on the small size, but fairly well treated. For me, the room treatment was the key to a really good sound stage, deep and wide. The speakers pretty much disappe...

"No snake oil here."Has anyone heard a demonstration of the Pebbles? Results/opinions?

"BTW, that shabby engineering (your words / I don't necessarily think their engineering is shabby, just their sound quality) is highlighted in this recent thread, if you're interested"Sorry man, I just meant this in good fun. I really did not want...

I would say be careful drinking a few beers in the cave, standing up without thinking a taking a stalactite to the head.
