high frequency intermittent noise
Hey, that's impressive use of perspective. Plenty of members on here are so OCD, they'd be miserable and only able to hear the noise.I was that way with transformer hum, until I decided not to care
Singers do not sing the language they speak
Definitely not racist to make an observation like that. But does that count as singing in a different language if it's the language they use?

Man, that sucks. Time to move!
Use pink noise disc to warm up stereo
Hmmm. Odd. I find just being turned on for a bit does the job. Which is odd, as I have a similar setup to rvp: dared tube pre and Ghent Audio class D monoblocksDo not keep tube amps on all the time. That's a fire waiting to happen.
How best to shoe horn speakers into a room
I do believe the Wilson's allow you to aim the mid and tweeter towards the listening position, no? That would negate the need to have them at ear level
Annoying sounds from cars at stop light
@oddiofyl (great name, btw) that chart is a great share, thanks! It's interesting reading about the extremely high decibel levels. Crazy stuff!
Use pink noise disc to warm up stereo
While I can't speak to your stereo, my experience is that it just needs to be on to warm up. Pink noise, though, is allegedly good for breaking in signal cables, where a signal needs to be passing through the cables. I'd be interested if you notic...
How best to shoe horn speakers into a room
Ceiling reflections can definitely be a problem.. my main concern with speaker height, unless it's some sort of array, is that I like having the tweeters close to ear height when I'm in my listening position. Too high or low throws the soundstage ...

Gentleman - a reggae singer, born in Germany, but sings in Jamaican/English patois.
Room set up
REW is great for room measurements, but won't tell you how to move your speakers. It'll just give you data to work with, but you'll still have to use your ears and mind.I find REW very helpful, but it's good to be realistic about its capabilities.
Which audio component would you like Santa to place under the christmas tree for you?
I'd like the fat, mystical elf to provide me with a big box of high quality DIY parts. KLEI signal connectors, furutech power connectors, high quality caps (all values that I would need, of course), a variety of high purity wire in different gauge...

Sure, but judgement on character goes beyond criticizing the comment..
shrink wrap film residue- how to remove
Plain old olive oil on a soft cloth might be a solution. I use it to remove adhesive when I'm out of Goo Gone.. Both Goo Gone and vegetable oil are very gentle to most surfaces and you'd probably be fine, but like everyone says, test it somewhere ...
My JL Audio sub is dead. What exactly happened?
Thanks for reporting back. It's a shame when there are no answers in these threads, just questions. Did you get to replace the cap yet?
14/4 wire for speakers- good idea? Bad idea?
It's not a bad idea.. What you'll find with cables is that the materials and geometry can make a big difference. So, there's a good possibility you'll hear differences using different cables. Whether or not it's an improvement depends on all the o...
