Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

Grannyring,

PM me regarding a DC Circuit for my CPT 1300. Might as well upgrade my internal wiring to my Furutech outlets as well :)

Thanks,

Wig

You can purchase DC blocking circuits here.....

https://www.atlhifi.com

I purchased the board only and populated it with high quality parts.  My buzzing CPT trannys are stone quiet now.  Also no DC is getting into my rig.

FYI; I purchased my Equ=Tech 2Q back in July of 2001.
I corresponded with one of the employees at Equ=Tech on several occasions. My suggestion back in 2001 was to replace the outlets with higher quality, cryogenically treated outlet which I did to my unit and it definitely improved the musics sound to my ears.
I also removed the duplex outlet with the built-in circuit breaker button and replaced it with a high quality cryogenically treated outlet.
Cool, grannyring. Wasn’t sure the listed product there was rated at 600V. Thanks for confirming. Might be simpler than using solid silver wire.
Mike Powell is very easy and fun to work with. I ordered the Jays Audio cdt2 from him last week. He is very knowledgeable and willing to help out others to make their audio experience better. And yes, his videos are quite entertaining and informational.

Thanks for the Equitech pic twoleftears. It saved me from opening mine up to see what it would take to replace the duplexes. Looks like it's daisy chained also. Not much room to work with in there!
@grannyring Whats your source for the Duelund 12g in polycast? Only place I’ve seen it is from the UK
lak: OCD HiFi Guy (Mike Powell) specializes in cables and power distribution products manufacturing. He is an audio dealer for a small number of brands like Jay’s Audio, Denafrips and others.

He likes Furutech brand products. He’s fanatical about using solid, sometimes milled, silver wire and bars in his cables and plugs. Fun videos to watch if only for the entertainment value.
You guys should use the new Duelund 600v 12 gauge stranded and tinned wire to do your mods.  This wire sounds amazing. I am using it now to build my power cords and they are the best I have heard.  Only $10 meter. I will now use it to upgrade my BPT Balanced Conditioner.  I also suggest putting in a nice DC blocking circuit. Many of these torroids Buzzzz🐝
Thanks for the website celander, and thanks for the picture twoleftears :-)
OCD HiFi Guy has a set of videos about how to avoid daisy-chain wiring receptacle outlets on a power strip. I suspect a similar approach can be adapted to a conditioner. The first one below provides the intro. The second one provides details of the revised wiring scheme.

Does the direct wiring from the transformer really have that good of an effect? My 1800 was upgraded by Mike at Tweek Geek with Furutech wiring and NCF receptacles and when I took a peek inside it was daisy chained like my stock one.
Ozzy isn't afraid to spend money on upgrades, that's one of the many aspects I like about him ;-)!
The wire upgrade, direct wiring and upgrade of the IEC isn't too expensive and no doubt a good way to go.
It’s likely that the sorts of post-market mods Ozzy did for his CPT 1800 would have similar benefits on other conditioners. But those Furutech GTX Nano outlets are quite expensive.
When I read the comments left the tapping begin I took it to mean that the listener is getting into the rhythm and beat of the music.
bander, yoby,

I used Military spec 12 gauge silver/copper stranded wiring. I purchased around 100 feet in different colors a few years back off of eBay. I also used Furutech nano liquid on all the connections.

And yes, all in all it was a huge upgrade in sound quality. I have my 2 mono block tube amps now plugged into it along with other pieces of equipment. The amps used to sound better plugged directly into the wall but since the mod they sound way better plugged into the revised 1800.

Remember its only as good as the weakest link...

ozzy
Hi ozzy: What 12 ga wire did you decide on for the upgrade , and where did you buy it? Thanks in advance.
Where's the OP through all of this, Bacardi? I also wonder what he meant in his original post "let the tapping begin." Tapping?

@mental I misunderstood/misread your original post.  I thought you were referring to CPT, as this is a CPT thread.  CPT marketed a power cord, and the link was to the Amazon twin.

My comments had nothing to do with Cullen--he wasn't in my mind, and I certainly didn't make any allegations.  Ironically, in fact, I am the happy owner of 3 Cullen PCs.  He makes them up himself, obviously based on cable sourced from somewhere.  They are good quality and perform well.

I have four Cullen power cables in my system and the are excellent in every way. The two Cullen Crossover Series ll power cables I have are high-end in sound and build quality.

Cheers,

Scott
mental, I have a Cullen Power cord, not what I consider hi-end

Also the power cord that came with my 1800 is just ok

As to the 1800, I find bypassing it and plugging my amp direct into my 20 amp dedicated line sounds much better. My 1800 seems to restrict it
A lot of folks in here with much better input than mine. I need to remember that, read and learn. My stuff is entry level, old school, and budget minded.
One thing for sure, definitely don't wanna step on anyone's toes.
I do like Pat's work and materials, I like Mark's gear, and Doug takes his time and explains the various cables and connectors I should consider for my applications.
The CPT a lil more than my budget allows but it's specs and reviews seem very worthwhile.

The Chinese balanced power supply came in and is a very solidly built and nice looking unit. Plugged my plasma into it and the picture quality improved nicely. Out of curiosity I tried it in my audio rig with my transport, DAC and pre amp and was pleasantly surprised by how good it sounded. It's not up to par with my Equitech Son of Q by any means but for those on a tight budget that want to clean up their power you can't go wrong for less than $200 shipped.
It's all good, just wanted to see what materials were made where. Very good chance most vendors use something from China in the gear. I try to avoid Chinese products mostly due to the knockoff thing, but sometimes it's difficult.

@twoleftears thnx again for the insight and link
Patrick Cullen and Cullen Cables have nothing to do with CPT and never have.  The cable that Mark was selling is being sold on Amazon by WAudio whoever it is sourced from in China.  Order one and try it as you have 30 days to send it back if you  don't think it is the same cable.  As you discovered Furutech is a Japanese company.
@twoleaftears ...I see nothing on the link about Cullen, Only Waudio.
I emailed Cullen out of curiosity in regards to your allegations, be interesting what he say.

Furez is a China product, I wasnt aware of that. Furutech is Japan from what I can find.
@ twoleftears ...really? Whoa, is that why I don’t see his listings anymore? Unreal. I still have to say those cables were very neutral, still using them. Thanks for the heads up.
So tell me, I like Furutech for speaker cables, furez for my lower end system. China too?
@mental If I remember correctly, it came out that that power cord was sourced from China, and its twin brother could be found on Amazon and/or ebay.  Note that it's not mentioned in the Exogal purchase agreement.
Powers cords like any other cable you add, it’s all about the material used. I prefer neutral and choose my cables carefully, I do NOT need added high or lows to my system. I forget the vendor in here offered a reasonbly priced power cord with choice 100% OFC copper and connectors and his product was right on. A lot hype goes into name brand products, I tried various brands, some cater to better lows, some to highs, to make up for the loss your gear was supposed to provide. Cullen, just come to my mind, I like his gold products for power cables. I like Silnote for interconnects, and I choose my own speaker cable from bulk and have them made up with quality connectors. It’s a personal thing, experience. Purchase what your budget allows do not exceed what your gear is capable of producing.

Now keep in mind, I'm old school and technology moves faster each day. I know this, just sharing what lil I've come to know.

Not much soldering is usually required for something as simple as what ozzy is describing. Daisy-chained outlets only require twist-on splice caps, as do connections to the transformer. Maybe the fuse holder requires soldering but twist-on caps might work there.
I really need to brush up on my soldering skills and start doing some of this myself.

You know we think that the CPT 1800 is such a great design. And for what it does it is great. But many important design choices were made so it could be built as cheap as possible.

If Exogel purchased the design then here is what they bought.

Inside the unit is a very cheap breaker ($1.50 at Parts Express, along with the IEC). The outlets (at about $2 each at Home Depot). The wiring is daisy chained from outlet to outlet. Which means that the last outlet is getting power from whatever is left over.

The transformer used is the claim to fame. If we could find that transformer the rest of the parts would add up to under $50 total! The case is overkill to give the impression of weight.

I went ahead and eliminated the breaker, and daisy chain wiring with high quality 12 gauge wire directly from the transformer. I also replaced the outlets and inlet with Furutech GTX Nano’s.

And... the Deep Core design NEVER worked!

ozzy

Sorry Hugh, your post was right under Jeff's from Exogal. It's Jeff that I want to keep us posted on Deepcore!

Sure Mark will say he's going to take care of all the customers he owes money. He's good at making such promises, not so much at keeping them. Not sure if Exogal has any mechanisms in place to ensure that those promises are made.....but the deal isn't finalized yet so maybe they will.

My chinese balanced transformer arrives today, I'll try it out on the plasma and let everyone knows how it works out. For those looking for a great balanced power conditioner until Exogal can transfer every thing over to them, check out Equitech. They were the pioneers of balanced power. Their Son of Q has transformed my system.
What Exogal is paying CPT for the names and designs should go into escrow, and be disbursed to affected customers from there.
Exogal wants to make things right if mark wont be able to, but at the same time they don't want to buy other peoples problems...  here we are still getting screwed while marky mark and the funky bunch want to play with our money, awesome.
@chazzzy007, as far as I know you are correct. Mark continues to say he is going to make things right for individuals that he owes refunds to.
