Hi grey9hound,there is a used pair of Taralabs air 1 cables on the audiogon for sale for $450.00 or make offer,This is a very good cable for the money!,better than the solo crystal oval!,they are occ copper with teflon dielectric,I would offer $400.00 and bring them home!,remember,the EX version is alot better!,for the money of this used one,Its a good deal! |
@ grey9hound, Hi,Im sorry you did not specify what you needed,RCa,XLR,I will keep looking for you,I would be patient if I were you,and don"t buy something you will regret!,If you can get the funds,I would get the Tara Air One Ex version and be done with it!,Its a great cable to experience that will make you want to explore more exspensive cables from tara,Tara will not give you the problems most cables do,For instance,Nordost vahalla is a fine cable!,If you run all vahalla to everything there will be a degradation in sound performance!the vahalla has to be used properally!are your screwed!,you will not experiance nothing like that with taralabs!,all there cables are shielded on top of that,no Im am not a dealer,just somebody that has experience with alot of cables out there,25 years! |
@ grey9hound, As a matter a fact I have the Taralabs omega gold speaker cables on main system$24,000.00 a 8ft pair new!I use 6ft,well worth the price!,yes they make everything else sound subpar on my system!,they even sounded more real on my particular system than the nordost odin speaker cables!,the odin was a tiny bit faster with less vivid lifelike focus of the musicians in space,and the tara blew the doors off the odin with the bass and mid-range,and the clarity is about the same,the tara reveals more nuances period!,with dead silences between everything that is going on,to me,on my system,the tara was very real compaired to the nordost odin cable! |

Hi grey9hound, there is a pair of older taralabs the one on the gon now for$1,200.00 speaker cables that would give you alot of happiness,I would offer him a $1,000.00 and be done,this cable is alot better than the cardas you have!,they are 5ft cables,at this point I would make that work!,for 6ft this cable is $3,400.00,I have this same speaker cable 6ft,and it would not leave my house for no less than 2,000.00,its that good!,its on my second system!,this would really give you a good sound for bass slam,etc...,they are 10 times better than the cardas!Go FOR IT! cheers! |

@ grey9hound, you did not offend me with the repost I posted on another thread,I am flattered,and feel you gave me alot of respect,thankyou very much,It is a true story that happened at progressive audio in 1997,before they sold the store to a new owner,back then they had a licensed room with thousands of dollars of sound room treatment and the system was avalon edilon speakers,mit cables,spectral equipment thru out,the very best of these brands,hell,after I did that test,I went down stairs and grabbed a Krell fpb 600 stereo amp and took off the mit cables and put taralabs the one cables on that system and it sounded way better than before,so good,we turned the volume up and blew the mid-range driver in one of the avalon speakers,I was horrified!the speakers at the time were $25,000.00 and I did not have the money to fix them!,avalon is located in colorado,I was there in columbus,ohio for a week,I drove from mobile,alabama,,the next day flipped me out!avalon flew in on a private plane and fixed the avalons in front of me!,at the store,they explained it was the only licensed room in the country at the time,and the store was not suppose to allow me to change out componets or cables!,the reason the store allowed me to do what I did was I had a great relationship with the dealer and the store,after that I bought a krell fpb 200 stereo amp!,and been useing krell amps ever since!,I now have the krell 700cx stereo amp that I love!,A toast to all,cheers! |

I am so glad I know what I want, and getting very soon!, The Taralabs cobalt A/C power cord, retail $5,000.00 a 6ft cord!, that should do the my cd-player very good!, I am going to buy used and try to save as much money as possible!, I have a situation in the works now!, may take me 30 to 45 days, the seller has 6 to 7 of the cords for sale!, He told me He is sure that I may get one unless some one buys all of them at the same time, that would be unusual, however, my friend in L.A. californa sold all his at the same time, so, I will keep my fingers crossed!, My amp leaves on june the 7th, to come back a new one!, cheers! |
@ jmcgrogan2, I would like to get an a/c cord for the Krell, However, This model series is the only one that is hardwired with this huge,thick stock a/c power cord that could pass for an after market power cord!,Krell did this from 2001 to 2006, most a/c power cords sounded like crap on the Krell amps, so they had a american cable company make and match the amps and hard wired them!, All the other Krell amps before and after have a detachable a/c power cord!, And I have to admit, That Krell was correct with their statement regarding after market power cords!, I tried about 20 different power cords from the cable company in the mid 90s, none of them sounded better than the stock cord!, the price range was up to $2,000.00 for a 6ft power cord that me and a group of friends rented together!, so, I am very skeptical of power cords for a Krell!,, cheers! |

@ jmcgogan2, My dedicated line that I installed is made for 220!, Its a 3/10 wire as well as the Krells, none of this will melt!, The power cord that came on the krell is made for 220 and 110, Krell told me this a couple of months back,they said they can switch the amps software to run on 220!, and another cord would not be neccesary., I am tring to get them on the phone now, hard to get thru sometimes. cheers! |
@ jmcgrogan2, Bad news john, Talked to Ray the current service manager at Krell, He confirmed everthing I have been saying about this useing an after market a/c power cord, My thread is up and running now, we will see what the gonners say about the idea,, any way, Ray said Krell does not reccomend the use of an after market cord and will not warranty the work they will perform on my amp if I use one!, Ray said, The carrol cord was made specifically for the Krell 700 cx!, I do not know what to say john, maybe sombody out there has a success story doing this, that might come on the thread!, cheers! |
@ jmcgrogan2, If I knew the cobalt would sound good on the Krell 7oocx and worked to good effect,I would do the up-grade with no hesatation!, I would like to see if eany body comments on the issue on the thread I started., As A matter of fact, I am going to change my breaker out from a 20 amp to 25 amp breaker, Krell told me that the 20 amp was restricting my current of my amp, and that a 25 amp would make my krell 700cx run alot smoother and run cooler!,and still small enough to flip if a problem occurs.cheers! |

@ waxwaves, You are talking my kind of environment!the spring fed pond and all the frogs and fish!,I have been swimming in that kind of setting all my life!, sounds like a awsome time with the beverages and all, I mean beers!, The Decade a/c cable is 12 gauge 15 amp! and should work on any thing you have!, Its not like you have 500 watts class A high current a channel and catching your receptical on fire!, LOL!,, I know your amp is high current!, the a/c cord should be fine on it!, your amp does not require a 20 amp breaker or a/c power cord that is 20 amps!,most likly, it may still sound better on the digital? we will see want we?, cheers! |

@ ZD542, As much as I love The Taralabs cables, Its the same as all cables, Its system dependent!, The Decade cables were really good for the money paid new!, Its a cable line from 1995 that was Taras celebration cable of being in bussiness for 10 years, the following year they introduced the one cable, the Decade was the top of the line in 1995, 96, the one, the zero gold 97 till late 2013 or early 2014 when Tara releases their new top cable and a speciality line thats for wide ban amps, but the new top cable will be for the mass componets out there, I hope they still keep the zero and omega cables in the line up!, we will see, maybe Tara will try to come to reality with their cable pricing thats really out rageous!, But I think that about all High priced cables!, Its a cable right!, LOL!, cheers! |

@ grey9hound,, What an offer!, I would have to see if I can, right now it does not look good because of money, Krell may be tring to make me pay $400.00 for a fricken box with fitted foam for the Krell 700cx to be shipped back!, they puposely tore up my reuseable box with professional reuseable shipping material I already had shipped to them!, needless to say, I am very pissed off at the situation!, They may even try to discard the skidd I paid good money for and the rachet tie downs I used, One thing you can believe or my name is not audiolabyinth!, that shitt is not going to fly!, My carrier will not except the amp off the skidd or not rachet tie downed to the skidd, They will have to do what I want or I cannot get my amp back!,, now you see why my earlier post about krell was not good so far, I am hopeing that this issue will be resolved a.s.a.p. and all gos well from there!,, happy listening! |

@ Isochronism, The reason I asked if you have tube products, Is most likly you would know about tubes,LOL!, I would like to know if you know of any digital players that are none 6h30 tubes players, that use a different type tube all together that can be run direct to amplifier?, and If not, do you know much about modright?, Do you think it may be possible for a mod company like Modright to modify An Ayon 2s player that uses the 6h30 tubes inside to be reworked to use a different type of tubes?,, thanks, Cheers! |
