Silver Banana Plugs
Ghirteen: I already purchased the second set of cables for the "failed" biamp, so I am stuck with an additional 38' of Kimber Kable. I was surprised that the jumpers that I made out of the Kimber actually sounded better than the shotgun biwire set...
Current CD playes and transports
Hi Mig: I have been contemplating selling my "GRAND ENIGMA" transport for "way" more than 40% off. I will run an add if I decide to sell - talk to you then.
Silver Banana Plugs
Gthirteen: Sorry no source for the plugs, but I like the idea - same metal throughout the link. I have always wondered how going from copper/silver to copper/gold or brass/gold affects the sound. I am bailing out of my bi-amp setup due to a recent...
directional cable?
7671: Once you break them in, keep track or mark which end is which. The direction in which they were broken in is then the direction in which they sound best.
1 million dollar speaker made by Kharma
Grow Up: I take it from your bitterness that you cannot afford the $300.00 mini system. This thread is basically a j-o-k-e by the way and is as funny as you are clueless. ROFL.
Need interconnect advice
I also have a spare pair of HT Truthlinks that I use when playing poor quality CD's (mostly older ones). Not quite as detailed as my silver IC's but no slouch in that department either. Very smooth highs and mids with a warm but precise low end. M...

I never thought of someone doing Dick, or was it Bill, a mistake. Well maybe if he was married, it's a hard call.
all linn, or mix & match??
A good new CD Player is the Audio Refinement Complete. I owned one for a short while and found it to be very "musical". Ended up giving it to my stepson or I would have it now. It was a little over $600.00 used though I have seen them go for less ...
directional cable?
Their is a sonic difference. When a cable is "broken in" in one direction it should always be hooked up with the flow going that direction. Reversing the cable makes it sound IMO like a new, not yet broken in cable. I have experienced a difference...
Shelf Material
Redkiwi: Are the Corian platforms still suspended (hanging) or are they on stationary supports? I am losing track at this point. Also, whether stationary or suspended are the Pods sandwiched between the Corian and your components? I do not know ho...
Best upgrade for the money ?
PS: I have been applying these teqniques to our cheap little $500.00 mini system (with Polk RT15 speakers) in a spare room that is at this stage pretty much a blank slate and the results are amazing. If only I had this much leeway in the living ro...
Best upgrade for the money ?
Room treatment and "many" hours spent on speaker placement and equipment isolation techniques. Someone at this site has mentioned a software speaker placement program that retails for around $100.00. Improving these three key factors will leave yo...
Is the Cassette Recorder Dead?
Thanks for the input Elizabeth. I have never used a car CD player and the fact that they muck up the CD's is really good to know. We will stick with the old car stereos and cassttes. I live in LA and drive with the sunroof (on my car) down year ro...
47 Labs GAINCARD, does it live up to the hype?
There is a review of the Gaincard at tnt-audio.com. Their other reviews of gear that I am familiar with seem to be very acurate IMO.
Speaker cable termination
Trelja: I take a good contact maybe too seriously. I have stripped two of the binding posts on my Castle speakers and they are less than 4 months old. I either need weaker fingers or more self control. I rigged the missing threads with part of a s...
