Behringer DEQ2496 HELP
Kck...Below 100 Hz is probably a range where EQ is badly needed. The DEQ2496 suggests that the automatic equalization may not work well below 80 Hz, but for me it works fine. Here are a couple of suggestions. 1...If you want more bass, turn up the ...
I know this is heresy, but...
Benjamin7...Actually, while an equalizer is undoubtedly the best way to rebalance the sound of a particular disc, it is not very convenient. Tone controls (remember those) are best for this purpose. They are also rejected by many audiophiles who a...
CDP clicks between tracks.and at the begininning??
Clicks happen. In my case they are rare, and never happen during the music, so I will live with them.
$20 tweak to tame that digital shrillness
Why not put an equalizer in your signal chain instead of using one in some guy's computer for $20 per disc?
Questions about SACD vs.analog for classical music
Stefanl...Physical design of the ear (Intelligent or otherwise) precludes hearing 45KHz, and what the brain can't hear is unlikely to annoy it. On the other hand, extreme low frequency sound is felt if not heard. Play any LP on any playback system...
Behringer DEQ2496 HELP
Analog in and out is very high quality. The advantage of the digital interface is theoretical...maybe real but I can't hear it. I also have the DEQ2496 between my preamp and the electronic crossover going to the power amp. In general it would be b...
Behringer DEQ2496 HELP
Kck...When measuring ambient noise (in the home environment) it should be dead quiet. I think that the ambient noise measurement may be important for pro sound applications where things may be going on while the sound guy is trying to get set up.Y...
Questions about SACD vs.analog for classical music
I have some SACDs that sound really good. (45 KHz is a bit beyond my range of hearing). I have some DVDAs that sound really good. I have some CDs that sound really good. I have some LPs that sound really good. But I have no CDs that are multichann...
What CD's do you take for a speaker audition?
To test all aspects of the speaker you need several discs (or LPs). Organ, Trumpet, Piano, Violin, Full orchestra, and, of course, the ubiquitous female vocalist.
I know this is heresy, but...
I have an Audio Control Richter scale, which is probably what you refer to. However the Behringer DEQ2496 is far superior.
Questions about SACD vs.analog for classical music
Lazarus28...I have sworn off expressing any opinion about vinyl vs high res digital (you want to see the tooth marks?) but I must agree that the "you've never heard good vinyl before" remark is tiresome.
how do i make a 50V power supply?
Look at www.hypex.nl.
THE LATEST---Gold plated fuses?
Sean...The contact resistance of a fuse, even if there is a bit of corrosion, will be trivial compared with the speaker cable, and, in the case of a tweeter, the padding resistor of the crossover network. I am more concerned with the fact that som...

And to add to Ecruz's observation, if your speaker can't do 20 Hz (and few can) set that frequency to -15 dB so as not to waste amplifier power and to avoid futile effort by the speaker.
Audio Cliche Usage Guide
The "wife walked in" story. As the story goes, she remarked instantly about the wonderful effect of the tweek you just installed without her knowledge. I think that the "bleeding ears" cliche for bad sound has worn itself out. How about a "my dog ...
