Accepting International Payments Just Got Harder..
In this day of wire transfers, I don't see why *any* significant hold is necessary. Perhaps we have a banker who can explain.
Behringer DEQ2496 - worth using in hi-end system?
Warnerwh...I don't know why they discourage autoeq below 100 Hz. It seems to work for me. However, your point about the parametric at low frequency is well taken. In fact you are supposed to be able to calculate the frequencies from the dimensions...
An observation about "Modern" classical music.
Lousyreeds1...Serious question...Do you feel that there are any criteria which separate "sound" from "music"? For example: how about a collage of random sound snippets, which is how some of your (___?) music sounds to me. If this is "music" could ...
Behringer DEQ2496 - worth using in hi-end system?
Warnerwh...I thought the graphic eq was 1/6 octave like the RTD because I could watch the individual 1/6 oct displays change in a way that looked independent. But checking the manual I see you are correct. Maybe I will fool around with the paramet...
are rear surround sound speakers having same sound
I think that there is only one "rear" (as opposed to "surround") signal. It can be sent to more than one speaker. It is a "derived" signal, probably a mix of the surround signals.
Behringer DEQ2496 - worth using in hi-end system?
Warnerwh...When I do autoequalization I use the "ROOM CORR" feature. This rolls off highs at 1 dB/oct. I agree that this sounds better.I have not used the parametric EQ. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that there really is only one equalizati...
hide equipment
My Sony Direct TV reciever has a remote that communicates by both IR and RF. The RF feature allows you to control the receiver from a second TV in another room. (The on-screen display of the Sony tells you what is going on).I think I saw an ad for...
Why China Isnt Happening Yet
When Japan first began selling sports cars they were knock-offs of classic British cars like the MG...just cheaper. The next generation were their own designs, and ran circles around the competition. They sold on the basis of quality, not cost. Ch...

Jadem6...The only audio piece I ever bought at Best Buy is a Panasonic SA-XR70, and it is one heck of a good item for my TV/HT rig. With the right speakers it really could be a primary audio system.I don't know how you got details of my system, bu...
An observation about "Modern" classical music.
Lousyreeds1..."That" music was an acknowledgement that the term "modern" is not quite correct. Sorry if you didn't get that.My original posting simply reported a fact, delayed audience response, which anyone at a live performance can verify, and w...

Milpai...Of course BB and CC are in to selling mass produced products at low cost. That's how you make money in the real world, so that you can afford to buy exotic audio equipment, sports cars, motor boats, airplanes, etc.
An observation about "Modern" classical music.
Lousyreeds1...As the saying goes..."If I said that I was misquoted".I am *dissapointed* not proud that most modern music leaves me cold, and I consider myself an *observer* of the sociology of musical appreciation, not an expert like you, sir.As t...
An observation about "Modern" classical music.
Lousyreeds1...I can agree with that. It says that I am not too proud to admit that I can't appreciate most modern music. I could pretend, as many seeking acceptance do, but that would not be me.By the way, the sounds resulting from the "technical ...

Robm321...Circuit City may not have a clue about audiophiles, but audiophiles (some of them anyway) don't grasp the real world, which is where Circuit City and Best Buy rule. How else can you explain $2000 speaker wires?
An observation about "Modern" classical music.
A funny thing happened yesterday. A radio station that I often listen to was playing some of "that" music. I was in my car, and parked it to go into a store. When I came back the radio program really grabbed my attention. It was just an awful nois...
