One of my favorites this year is the group Switchblade Symphony who sound like gothic trip hop/rock music. If you take the truly excellent Massive Attack "Mezzanine" album sound and add to it a gothic theme you have "Three Calamities" the third al...

Best ss Line Level Preamp under $10K ??
Sean, checking the net I discovered CTC Blowtorch preamp is real, a John Curl collaboration retail $9000. Unit is being promoted by Bound for Sound magazine. At first I too thought this was a joke, strange name, very much like a Sluggo joke. I hav...
Any advice on CD player upgrade?
John, if Arcam A7 has digital output you may want to consider using A7 as transport and buying used Dac here. Bel Canto, Birdland, Millenium etc 24/96 that produce sound you have to pay $2000+ in new player to get

Gino, I also deal with Wen from time to time, just wondering how did you justify the big jump in cost from Goertz MP $130 to NBS Monitor IV at $700 each.....did you try many other ICs at that price and lower or did you follow Wen"s advice?

Glen, have you gone to EVS Millenium Dac site, www.tweakaudio.com ,they talk about this type of "tweak" under his tweak section. However extreme caution is recommended because of electrcal shock or fire hazard possibilities.......not to mention yo...
