Any experience w/Guerilla Audio?
I've dealt with Jason a couple of times. Nice guy. His cables appear to be top notch. Good materials. Prompt delivery can be sketchy though. Had to nudge him several times to get things out the door.
tube pre suggestion
Tvad,Although I never got to audition an Audio Horizons pre, due to some shipping complications, I can tell you Victor and Joseph are outstanding folks. Be patient if you haven't received a reply yet, Victor volunteers his help as chief communicat...
Pass Labs XA-160 vs Levinson 33H
Both are outstanding amps and rank among the world's best. Lack of power is more of an issue with the efficiency of your speakers than preamp impedance. Have you written Pass about the amp-preamp compatibility question? They're extremely responsiv...
Vibration and Isolation at a budget?
Piedpiper,It's not cynicism if it's fact. What Mappleshade if trying to pass off as customized vibration pads are the same gizmos available for much less at HVAC supply stores. He hasn't even changed the basic ribbed surface. It's cork and rubber,...
Vibration and Isolation at a budget?
"I wonder if this is what Mapleshade uses as the source material for their Isoblocks?"You can bet on it...at many times the cost of the same ones sold at any HVAC supplier. Call it an audiophile tweak, make silly claims of proprietary design, add ...
Anyone listened to ML Vantage?
I own a pair of the Vantages and love them. Moved up from a pair of Ascent i's and can definitely hear an improvement. It's amazing how such a relatively small speaker can project such a wide soundstage. These speakers go way deep. Considerably mo...
Room ratios
For what it's worth, when I built my music room I carefully researched ratios. Even went so far as doubling the sheetrock and incorporating sound channels. Still, my room tends to interact a little too much with my system.I keep thinking about whe...
Sonic Frontiers preamps tube eaters??
I've owned a SF Line 3 for about 10 years and never experienced either premature tube burnout or tube noise. In fact, the Line 3 is amazingly quiet and I've only replaced one 6922 tube so far.
Upgrading Sonic Frontiers Line 3SE to ???
Reb1208,Which sockets are the buffers in the SF Line 3? These are different than the front two gain tubes, right?
Wadia owners, what PLC are you you using?
My BPT 3.5 seems to work just fine.
VPI Scout - HELP Not sure how to pack my .......
Hi,Here are the packing instructions per Mike at VPI:"Platter and motor go into the die cut foam on the bottom, platter to the right. The motor is placed in the die cut with the pulley up. A flat 2" sheet goes next with a small hole for the motor ...
PS Audio GCPH comments-opinions
The hum issue you're discussing is from only one poster. The problem seemed to be specific to his rig and set up because the good folks at PS Audio took the unit back and couldn't duplicate the problem.I have been test driving the GCPH the past 30...

Best Power Conditioner
Hi,I've noticed some posters have said they use the Powervar 6 amp version for digital, why?Wouldn't the 12 amp version work for everything from amps to preamps to cd players? Thanks,Michael
$5000 or under speaker secommendations?
