| Shunyata or Transparent Power cables I just bought 2 new Transparent power cords so will soon have a better idea of their current generation compared to Shunyata and PS. | |
| How many dealers are in "your "City ? Louisville, Ky. There is myself and a couple of video stores beside Best Buy etc. Another guy is suppose to be around but no one I know has seen him for a couple of years. Almost all the action is on Audiogon or even ebay. I don't sell new gear on... | |
| Yes,another DAC question I would look closely at the Rega Isis player; well into the very top class and some have been floating around for a semi-reasonable price i.e. $5k or so. Should easily equal anything under $10k. Do I have one? No; I have the Rega dac, which is qui... | |
| Tonearm board makers? Any local shop should be able to do wood or acrylic; a machine shop should be able to do metal. | |
| PS Audio: Power Plant Premier. How much .... Never say never; my CJ 350 sounds better through my PPP than direct. I have made the comparison several times. | |
| VPI Super Scoutmaster Cartridge ? VPI recommends Dynavector; I have used Denon 304s and AT 33EVs on VPIs with good results. | |
| Class D amps It is very simple in concept and offers a very high efficiency but has proved to be quite difficult to implement without running into problems more conventional amps don't face. Which is why amps which should theoretically be small and cheap end u... | |
| Tube amps with Apogee Scintilla's your thoughts ? I thought that they were bought out by another company; not Magnepan. And that this company was suppose to continue making them or bring out a new line using their technology. They are not really very similar to Maggies and I don't see how they wo... | |
| Tube amps with Apogee Scintilla's your thoughts ? The DR3 was a classic amp for the Scintilla, I still regret not getting one when I was a Classe dealer in the old days. I still have a pair of Duetta Signatures but they are much easier to drive. I suspect that you will need solid state for them. | |
| Help with Rega DAC set up I also have the Pangea adapter. The cord does make a considerable difference. I have used several including Shunyata, Oyaide and PS Audio. I would use coax myself; some friends were over last Sunday and we tried several; they all sounded different... | |
| Shunyata or Transparent Power cables I have had both; both are good. I think I would give the edge to Transparent but I did not have them at the same time and it would be a matter of taste anyway. Right now I am using PS as it is a good match for my system. YMMV | |
| AU24e Interconnects - but warmer I hesitate to answer this as I am a dealer for the product but VDH The First Ultimate will do what you want. In my case I am a dealer for it because I use it rather than the opposite; it is VERY close to Cardas at 1/3 the price. As a digital cable... | |
| non-magnetic mechanical stylus force gauge The reason I still occasionally use mine is to check on the accuracy of one of my digital gauges; I have 4 if I remember correctly. At times they have been wildly inaccurate. I question whether a complex device like a digital gauge can be consider... | |
| non-magnetic mechanical stylus force gauge I have MC cartridges and use a Shure guage from time to time. I have never heard of it being magnetic and I have been using one for over 30 years. I think you are misinformed. Just because a gauge is metal does not mean it is magnetic. | |
| Which makes more sense? - CD player vs SACD SACD is moribund; I would stay with a CD only machine, the level of performance will be higher on CDs. |
