It's been said before, but I'll say it again...
It doesn't take much to be polite and civil. However, I will admit to at times being curt in my initial email contact. It's good to be reminded of common courtesy.
are any of your friends audiophiles?

How about making your own from Mogami 2534 wire and Neutrik connectors.I bought 80 feet of Mogami and four Neutrik connectors for $80 from Markertek.com.
Modwright SWL 9.0SE Pre ... your thoughts welcome
It's tough to categorically state any particular piece of gear bests most others. This may be true in a given system and to a specific taste, but whether it applies to every system and to every sonic preference is questionable. The Lamm LL2 Deluxe ...

Sherod, I have no 6922 at the moment, but I prefer Mullard 6922 over Siemens 6922. I'm going for a sound that's less analytical and precise than what Siemens generally deliver. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks, John. I have an AH 2.1nB preamp coming next week for an audition with my Belles 350A Reference and VAC Standard 160 monoblock amps.
A higher level than Mullard in tube quality?
It's not a question of higher quality. Mullard, Siemens, Philips (Amperex), Telefunken are all of essentially equal quality, but they possess different sonic signatures. The issue is one of sonic preference given the listener's system components, ...

08-29-07: Jmcgrogan2Take a look on the Audio Horizons threads. I don't think you can beat their preamps...Is this comment based on having heard an AH preamp in your system?I'm curious to hear one, but in four days since sending an email to the AH ...

I would guess that you prefer a very accurate, detailed and neutral sound. That's how I imagine your system must sound with the NuForce/Thiel combination. If you want to stay with this sound, then the First Sound Presence Deluxe II or Modwright 9....
efficiency- hope i spelt that wright.
Well, I just bought fairly efficient Sonata III loudspeakers (92dB, 8 ohms), and they STILL require copious power to control the bass for rock music...as stated by Alan Yun to me in a telephone conversation. Here I thought I was going to be able to...
Re-arranged Room Sounds Awful...How to Improve?
Your original set-up is the recommended arrangement for a square room. Anything else will be a compromise, as you know.
