High priced power cable what about the romex
I find the whole subject a tremendous puzzle. Given that the signal travels through miles of garbage before it gets to your CD, or LP or Elcasette, or whatever, I am amazed that a power cable makes such a difference. But all things in Heaven and E...
High priced power cable what about the romex
When most commercial recordings are made, the mics feed into a mixing console with miles of cheap wire, tons of op amps, tone contols, faders and other assorted non-audiophile approved garbage. So why even worry about a few feet of Romex?
Any opinions re UK forums Vs. Audiogon?
I noticed that you capitalized "Oasis", as in the whiny Beatles Eurotrash cover band. Coincindence, or Freudian slip, you be the judge.
John Mayer Trio???????
Ya, he shreads on "Crossroads", too bad his singing channels Michael Franks who channeled Mose Allison. Why do good guitarists find it necessary to sing poorly? Benson was the heir apparent to Wes Montgomery until he opened his mouth, and let's no...
do you remember
I grew up listening to my dad's mono system, single Klipshorn corner horn, Scott vacuum tube integrated and tuner, Garrard rim drive table and Ampex reel-to-reel. A lot of modern high end could learn from this rig.
Vintage Tube Amps, I'm Lost
I have owned a lot of vinatage gear and can cheerfully say that most of it sounds hazy and fat (kind of like me). The ST-70, while beloved by many, is a marvelous example of this breed. Upgrading it is IMHO, putting lipstick on a pig. So where wou...
Review: Audio-Technica USA AT ESCMG29 Cartridge
Petsound, this is an awesome review. We need more thoroughly considered reviews of inexpensive gear to enlist new converts into the hobby. Clearly, this review has been a labor of love and serves as a model of its kind. The most enjoyable read of ...

Gram Sleem Era Gold MKV should be a large improvement.

Adcom gfp 750....why so many for sale?
Tripper, shouldn't it be, "Sorry to hijack the thread twice."?
Request to hear Zu speakers
Is this like one of those police sting operations that I see on "Cops"? Is the idea to get as many audiophiles in one room as possible and have Matt Polk and Amar Bose pop out with high frequency ray guns and make everyone deaf? Ahh, we're postin'...
Help Viridian will a Denon 103 work in a Rega arm
Rene, David and Milos, thanks so much. I had read about the cartridge working well with modded arms, but I will be flying stock for a while, so I was interested in the performance sans tweakage. David, I have always used the spacers, can I get in ...
Adcom gfp 750....why so many for sale?
Not a curse at all. The Stereophile blessing moves a lot of product for the manufacturer. That product eventually gets old or out of fashion and ends up on the secondary market. Crack your paper dude, there are a lot more Ford Taurus' or Honda Acc...

Why so many Rotel RCD-1072 players for sale ?
I just sold one two weeks ago with an RA-1062 amp as well. I would guess there are a few for sale because, since they are cheap and sound great, they sold a gazillion of them.
