......hadn't thought about it until I saw this thread-- a good one Ross. I've gotta go with Jond on this one-- buy more music and less gear. And Glen has a point about the credit cards....gotta keep away from Vinny at (almost) all costs. Seriously, 2001 was very good for my stereo system-- I added Vandersteen 5 speakers and am in hog heaven with them. So, don't know if I can keep it, but I'm going to try to find new/more music in '02. Cheers and Happy New Year to All. Craig |

I think my goal for 2002 will be to experiment with and to make the most of a couple of digital room correction products. I have the Behringer 8024 in house right now and I need to figure out how to properly utilize its many features and modes of operation. I also plan on trying the new TacT 2.2X to see how much difference the (relatively) big bucks can buy. I see digital room correction as a big plus for home audio and I think the time has come to welcome it and get in on the benefits. These devices now seem to be transparent enough that the improvements appear to outweigh any negatives by far. Happy New Year to All! |
The only thing thats changing in my system in 2002 is tubes. Of course if there is an offer too good to pass up maybe.....?????

I promise to buy only music I need.....and take me medication to help my addiction to music.....I didn't get the new Jan Arden-"Greatest Hurts" for Xmas and I need the new Barenaked Ladies and ..and.and...oh help me.....I'm over 1200 cds,,,and the vinyl.....maybe if I only buy two cd's a month and the odd vinyl it will be a slow withdrawal? Looks like were all in about the same boat.
Albert has had one good advantage over most of us though. It's hard to buy when your system is completely torn apart for quite a while. As such, he may have actually saved money by remodeling his listening room. Then again, i don't think the labor, parts and engineering were cheap, so he might be WORSE off than we are. Plus he's probably going through "withdrawals" from not having his system to play with : (
If i can work towards getting what i have to perform optimally in 2002, i'll be happy. If i can do it without buying much more, i'll be ECSTATIC : ) Sean

Just as soon as I get the three big pieces ( Krell 600c, Wilson surrounds, dcs percel upsampler ) I swear I won't spend another dime on anything else.
Of course if Krell updates the five channel HTS to Seven, then I might do that and then of course I will need two more wilson surrounds......and then.... Oh the hell with it I'm screwed. |

My New Year's Resolution is to find enough time to start really enjoying all the "stuff" I've been accumulating over the last year. Sometimes I feel like a junkie; I get overly anxious awaiting the next big day of new listings. It isn't enough that Audiogon has the most comprehensive variety of audiophile equipment available on any given day, but I feel like I gotta cheat on them and go wandering about on other like sites just to make sure that some other sneaky addict hasn't just listed that obscure and rare piece that I just knew I had to have and thought I'd never see for a price that I just couldn't refuse. Oh well! I know that if I don't keep looking every day, that the one day I miss will be the one day that I see that thing marked SOLD before I ever got a chance to make it mine. I got to stop..Please God, help this weak soul become strong again. Happy New Year everybody!!! |
Now if I can only forget about the last two zero's on the check for the turntable and speakers at Rockport. We'll maybe first the lobotomy then the check. Or is it first the check, then the divorce, then the lobotomy.

Ya; my resolution is to stay away from all you sickies;that keep making me buy more and more. After all,I only have 2 ears.Watts/is watts; all cables sound alike; cd players all turn at the same speed;woofers is woofers; tweeters is tweeters. I just hope my illegal substances business picks up next year so I can be up there with Albert and Kelly.--Happy New Year to all!!
