The more I think about it, the more I have to agree with most.  You lose nothing by returning it except for the time waiting for a replacement.  You could have received a sample that had the lazer move out of alignment oh so slightly which the result was the intermittent skipping.  As I mentioned, I am way more than pleased with every aspect of the CD-S1000 and think that it is a unit worth another go around with one new in box.

why would you consider not returning a broken product?

I agree the performance is stellar, Yamaha has done a good job...will see I have 40 more days to decide..thanks

I picked up a used(but minty) one about a month ago and it has been nothing short of stellar.  Great sound(CD, SACD), impeccable build quality, and operationally perfect.  Give your player a little more time and if the problem continues, return and have them send another one.  IMO, these Yamahas are keepers and mine will definitely be here as long as I still have the matching A-S1000 integrated.

2 weeks won't make any bit of difference.  It either skips or it doesn't.    Return it and get a new one.

That's one of the options returning it, and get a sealed box, this is very obvious a return, the company did not check it, will see I have 60 days to return it, I will give it two weeks... And try more Sacd disc.thanks Nordic norm

Return it. That's not a normal problem. Yamaha is usually pretty solid gear
