BEST AC CORD UNDER 1000?
Whatjd: And how would any power cord supply more noise-free AC than another? Why would a power supply be influenced in any way by what power cord is hooked up to it, as long as it's delivering enough AC? Answer: it wouldn't, x2.
Do i need good pc s with PS PP?
Power cords conduct AC, and that's all they need to do. There's no audio signal going through them, so their job is pretty simple, and so are their requirements. You can buy power cords ranging from $5 to $1000+ each, and they'll do the job equall...
Granite Audio Power cord 555
Dekay: Good. BTW, there's nothing else to use but your ears in DBT. Probably a "same-different" method would be best for this situation. Agreed?
BEST AC CORD UNDER 1000?
Neubilder: No, you've got it right. There isn't anything a power cord can do to affect the performance of the device it's connected to. All it does is deliver power.
John Dunlavy On "Cable Nonsense"
Frap, you can discount ABX testing as a means of comparison if you like, but you offer nothing in its place except a method so highly susceptible to errors and misjudgment that it's really useless for true comparisons of audible differences.Liguy:...

Kevperro: Most cable companies don't even make their own wire, but buy it from the catalogs of the manufacturers. With all the "research" costs, how is it none can tell us why they would make a difference?

Dekay: You okay with double-blind testing?
John Dunlavy On "Cable Nonsense"
Good point, Jhunter.Dr. Floyd Toole and Sean Olive published a report in the AES journal some years ago where they had a group of 40 listeners evaluate various speakers in various listening positions, both "blind" and "sighted" tests. Some listene...
John Dunlavy On "Cable Nonsense"
I agree with Dunlavy that the snake oil peddled in cable claims only serves to detract from actual technological development and advances in audio quality, and tarnishes the audio industry in general.
TEACH ME ABOUT BI-WIRE
Sedond: You say bi-wiring makes your speakers sound better. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, maybe it's real, maybe it's all imaginary. I don't have any reason to believe that it does (the hypothesis you mentioned doesn't add any weight), but then...

Really?? Where are you located, Dekay? We'll see who gets burned.

I'll match my $8 12-gauge power cord up against any 14, 16, or 18-gauge or smaller power cord.
How can power cords make a difference?
All a power cord has to do is deliver AC energy to the audio or any other kind of device's power supply. The more current the device needs, the larger the conductors in the cord should be. Thus a 120VAC power amp might benefit from a 14 or 12 gaug...
Cable "burning": Real or VooDoo ???
Albertporter: I can't control what you infer from what I write. If you want to infer that I love numbers more than music, go ahead, it can be your own little alternative to reality. My insistence on ABX testing is to determine what, if anything, so...
