I make speakers that use high-end prosound drivers, capable of delivering clean peaks north of 120 dB.One of my sons is a drummer. No way would I claim that my speakers can truly recreate the sound of a live drum kit.   A reasonable facsimile perha...
What is the most dramatic way of increasing a speaker's Bass and Low mid?
This past Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, our room was right next to the Schiit room. I was hoping to make a trade, a pair of my speakers for one of their amps. Of course the pivotal question was, are my speakers worth a Schiit??Seriously, I think goin...

Dumbeat, in my experience cabling can make an audible difference which does not show up in the kind if measurements you are asking for.Since I'm a speaker guy, I tend to give a lot of credit and/or blame to the speakers.  I do not look to cabling ...

Spikes = better imaging and clarity, "tighter" bass, but not necessarily "more" bass.  Ime best to experiment with positioning BEFORE you install the spikes.

If you place them in corners, assuming that works well, you might also spot-treat the walls to either side of the tweeter with thick foam. The idea is to selectively target the very wide-angle off-axis energy from the tweeter down at the bottom en...

Optimal high impedance speaker
"Your comment (3years) is surprising as I am sure your speaker, unlike most others, beats the limitations of the room it's in."I've sold other models that work well with the room, just not Zephrins.  Perhaps their somewhat unorthodox appearance is...
Optimal high impedance speaker
"...a search generates only 1 mention of the Zephrins in 2 years?"I haven't sold any Zephrins since moving from Idaho to Texas three years ago.  The vast majority of my work is in prosound, and the Zephrins are very labor-intensive, so I haven't r...

Songs for Speaker Placement
Hmmm.  Wasn't "Songs for Speaker Placement" a Wayne Brady segment from "Whose Line Is It Anyway" ??Seriously, I second newbee's recommendation of Opus 3's "Depth of Image".  Duke
