Right time to pull the trigger. Black Friday.
I agree -- it sounds too good to be true. More like a going out of business liquidation. Hope not, since they have been a good dealer.By the way, I assume you mean Audiolab in Fairless Hills PA, cuz there doesn't seem to be any Audiolab in Bensale...
Lego turntable
Cool!I hope the platter runs smoothly, no "cogging" from the drive. heh
Your last concert was to see who and when?
I enjoyed the Doo Wop Project in the Matthews Auditorium of the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey tonight. It was an extraordinary performance by a most talented ensemble -- 5 male vocalists backed up piano, sax, drums, bass guitar, and ele...
Your last concert was to see who and when?
Just attended Chris Botti's performance in the Matthews Auditorium of McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey, tonight. As always, Chris put on a great show. He had five sidemen - piano, guitar, bass, drums, and electronic keyboard, and three gue...
Your last concert was to see who and when?
A group of six "Young Jazzers" at Trumpets Jazz in Montclair, New Jersey last night, August 9. (Two saxes, trumpet, guitar, bass, drums)Well-coordinated young talent in a comfortable venue.
The End Of Big Iron?
I would assume that demand has been off for such high wattage stuff. Due to the economy? Saturation? Dunno.Practically speaking, the big power was really only useful for bass content in big inefficient woofers.Nowadays, many speaker manufacturers ...
To remove the belt or not remove the belt that is the question
Too much handling is probably not good for the belt. Best to leave it on unless you know you won't be using the turntable for a long (long) time.
What started you on the path to being audionut?
Stereo5, I really liked the way the Rectilinears sounded too. In my mind, they had a sense of the sound of electrostatics, which were out of my price range. They were airy and the sound seemed to be emitted from the entire baffle, given their 4 tw...
What started you on the path to being audionut?
My parents went shopping for a console in the 1960s. (They settled on a Magnavox.) While shopping, they asked the salesman about some components on a shelf in the corner of the store, and they were told they were very expensive but sounded good. T...
6 new Totem Hawks vs Used Wilson set-up ?
First, you need to audition the Wilson's seriously. While many might judge the Wilson's to be "better," there are some people who do not like the Wilson sound. Best to verify for yourself. If you find you like the Wilsons, then How Much better do t...
Do you put as much effort into your Car Audio?
Geez, Czarivey! That's a great story. You actually caught the guy.I actually had an OEM radio stolen out of a BMW in Greenwich Village before they started employing scramble codes.Glad to hear no one has reported an accident-related loss so far.
Do you put as much effort into your Car Audio?
No. Too much outside noise, inferior source quality except for CDs, too distracting for the driver, inhibition from playing realistically loudly (personally, I would be embarrassed to be playing loudly enough to disturb other drivers), cost I woul...
Hum problem - help
How about switching your speaker cable?
Any thoughts on removing a preamp from your system
I had a good experience some years ago in my sunroom system.I ran a Mark Levinson 390s cd player directly into a Pass Aleph 3 amp, driving a pair of ProAc 1SCs. Supplemented at the low end with a REL subwoofer. Cardas Golden Cross interconnects an...
Using two preamps together to use the phono on one
Yah, you should be able to just plug it into the Aux input of your new preamp. If you get a new preamp with a "phono" input, then you could plug your phono into that and retire the NAD.But if you still want to us the NAD phono stage, then use the Aux.
