JAY'S Audio CDT-3-MK2 or PS Audio DirectStream Memory Player
I was also looking for a transport to replace my Musical Fidelity M1 and my April Music CDT100 transports, and was thinking of the PS Audio transport. I decided to go with the Jay's Audio, based on feedback here and a few other places. It is a won...
C.E.C TL2 replacement
I recently added a Jay's Audio CDT2 MK2 to my system. I love it!Build quality is up there with just about anything and better than most transports I've seen. The sound quality though, is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
CD Transport that has I2S hdmi output, cheaper the better.
I love my Jay's Audio CDT2 MK2. It has a hdmi i2S output. I unfortunately don't have a dac to go along with it though. If you could find one used, I imagine it would be a great price, as new is a a little over $2000
If you still spin CD's their is a reference level Transport for reasonable money
@garrardII have only used the transport with my modified MHDT Labs Pagoda.

At this point, one of the few transports I'd take over my CDT-2 MK2, would be the CEC TL0x. Or the Kalista transport.I wish my current DAC had an HDMI I2S input, so I could hear the transport at its best.
Another new DAC: Audio Mirror
I'd love more info on this dac. It doesn't seem to be a balanced design though, which is what I would be interested in.
Upcoming Technics SP-10R (100th Anniversary Model)
@rwwear I have to agree. That is a very plain, almost ugly table to me. I hope it sounds amazing and they restyle it in the future.

What are the differences you're hearing?
Accuracy vs. musicality
Accuracy is musicality for me. I don't want my music to sound a certain way. I want it to sound as much like what is on the disc, as I can afford to get it.
Horns: Why don't they image well?
I head a pair of Sadurni Acoustics speakers (the Miracoli) that imaged really well. They're overall the best horns that I've heard. Very expensive, but very good sounding.
Recommend A CD Player With A Good Transport To Feed My DAC - Maybe Under $700.
I have a Musical Fidelity M1 CDT transport and an April Music Stello CD100. They're both very good.I'm selling both as I've replaced them with a Jay's Audio transport. When I was looking for a transport last year, I considered the Cambridge, but u...
detailed vs. warm DAC - which do I prefer?
The Denafrips Terminator seems to be detailed as well as warm, based on what I've read. And it's a DAC I'm seriously considering. I'm very much in the neutral, detailed, information rich, soundstage, camp. I'd be previously considered the PS Audio...
Warm HDMI cable?
@soundermn I'm going to assume you have trouble with either reading, reading comprehension, or both, as the op plainly wrote this: "P.S. If you think cabling doesn’t matter or that all HDMI cables sound the same, please pass on."Kindly pass on ple...
Is the NuPrime CDT 9 Pro a Best Kept Secret?
I also recommend the Jay's CDT2 Mk2. I got one recently, and I love it! Much better sounding than the Musical Fidelity and the April Music transports it replaced. The build quality is up there with the best of them.
A DAC that crushes price vs. performance ratio
There are not many stories of new stock tubes sounding better than their nos counterparts. Yes, it does happen, but it is more the exception than the rule. The same can be said, in my experience, for many stock parts in general. Unless you're talki...
