The evidence is quite clear that exposure to music education at an early age develops better cognitive skills and not only enhances communication ability, but also math comprehension. These are skills that even if jr. is not gifted with natural bo...
Are there any quality Phish recordings?
"Billy Breathes" is my favorite Phish album. I think that most of Trey's solo efforts are well recorded. I like ""Live at the Tab' out of all the live official releases.
What early 70's rock bands had violins?
Most of the 70's rock bands with violin players have been mentioned with one exception- the Dixie Dregs.
Karl Blau anyone?
Thanks for the heads up. I am a big My Morning Jacket fan and apparently he has produced some of their work. I will check him out.
Best music for romantic interlude
Well, back in the day, I agree that Roxy Music's "Avalon" was the ticket. Jorma's "Quah" album was pretty good as well. Of course, depending on the personality of the partner, Sinatra, the Grateful Dead's "Live in Europe", Moby's "Play", the Beatl...

Excellent post. You offer insight into her personality that adds to the understanding of her music.  The misfit music aficionados on this site certainly appreciate your memories and the work of Phoebe Snow.
Yes "Fragile" How great of an album is it?
Classic. I have been looking into newer British prog bands recently because I am a huge Yes fan. With the passing of Chris Squire, unfortunately, Yes will never be the same again. I think the new Big Big Train release "Folklore" is worth checking ...

Congrats. I think "Sun Goddess" from that album is probably my favorite EWF song. At 7.40, it never got any radio airplay, but it has such a solid groove with Ramsey Lewis playing no less.

Etiquette for a listening session?
You know what they say: "there are a million and one uses for duck tape".
Canadian rock and roll
If nothing else, with a name like the Absolute Whores, the band must have a good sense of humor! BTO and the Guess Who are certainly Canadian classics. If you aren't familiar with Blue Rodeo, you should check out their "Five Days in July" album. "...
