How many remember Don Kirshner's Rock Concert?
What a great Joe Walsh show. Thanks for the link.
My Morning Jacket / anyone seen a show ?
Loomis,Thanks for the recommendations. There is also a relatively new band from Athens called Futurebirds. They sound a lot like early MMJ using a pedal steel guitar and a lot of echo.
My Morning Jacket / anyone seen a show ?
Yes. I saw them a few years ago and they were great. At the time they were supporting "Z' and seemed to be having a good time improvising on some of the "jammier" numbers like "Off the Record". They were loud, but I enjoyed them immensely. Jim Jam...

Rembering the 80s: College Rock
The Chameleons are one of the most overlooked bands of the 80's. I have all of their discs. They are touring the U.S. this spring under the latest name "Chameleons Vox". Joy Division/New Order are both great and I am a huge Simple Minds fan as wel...
Classic rock: best remasters
I think the Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) produced remasters are excellent especially the 40th anniversary edition of Aqualung. He also did the ELP catalog, but I have not heard them. I need to be enticed with extra goodies to buy another edition...
A fond farewell to The Allman Brothers Band
You need to check out www.musicvault.com. This site has a lot of Brothers video performances through the years. Also, there is some extremely rare footage of Chuck Leavell playing with Sea Level and BHLT (Betts, Hall, Leavell, and Trucks) doing so...

year end best of list...the "Bones"
Appreciate the feedback Slaw. I ordered both Frazey's yesterday. Next post will probably be a review of the live bonus discs from my Christmas wish list: Supertramps' "Crime of the Century", Drive By Truckers "English Oceans", and a couple of old ...
year end best of list...the "Bones"
Slaw and Mofi,Thanks for the additions. I agree with Ryan Adams and love Lucinda. You have given me some new ideas for stocking stuffers.
Dream Syndicate
Sounds like fun. Thanks for the heads up on the BFTG upcoming release by the way. With all the software corrected radio fodder these days, maybe it is time for the garage bands of the world to shake things up again. How about compensating for lack...

A fond farewell to The Allman Brothers Band
Yep. Chuck can tickle the ivories. His work with Clapton, the Stones, and others is a testimony to that. His solo albums are worth checking out. I particularly like "Southscape".
A fond farewell to The Allman Brothers Band
Well said Adam. The brothers have been a favorite for many years. I have seen them live in many incarnations as well and also have enjoyed some of the spin off projects like Sea Level. Years ago, I went to the old Moonshadow Saloon in Atlanta and ...
