Solid state amp to replace my Audio Research Ref 150 amp
I find most Pass would do good job for you, similar to Pass .5 or .8 is Coda. I like their amps a great deal and Coda also is the basis for Sanders amps and lastly,  Jim Bongiorno has passed,  but his last amp is exceptional. Ampzilla 2000... Wire...

Speaker Placement
I can't tell much of how your room looks from that video,  but tow in is a different animal as far as tonal balance... a full tow pointing at the ears should be as close as you can get to the actual frequency response of your speaker. As you turn ...

Issues of this caliber normally mean that you are dealing with room issues.  A properly damped room goes a long way to correct the tonal balance issues.
Best Pre-amp for $500??
Just did a quick search on Fleabay looking for a CP35 and came across this... I've owned 2 Yaqin products,  they were both quite good.  This looks to be a steal and later you can roll tubes.... I'll point you to a couple DAC's under $100 if intere...
Best Pre-amp for $500??
Digital inputs?  as in Optical?  USB?  Coax? So,  you are confirming the questions that you want an on board DAC?  I can understand that.  I would only comment that the quality level of a few of these preamps mentioned are far above anything that ...
best integrated amp.
this competes with the best of them... the best for one guy,  another one, not so much,  But very nice by anybody's standard. Coda CSIBhttp://coda-continuum.com/product/index.php
Best Pre-amp for $500??
well, I answered your thread for a $400 preamp.... The suggestions here are similar... When you get to that $700ish price point,  things change....At that price I would look at an Adcom GFP750 (Only this model in Adcom).... I would look for a Muse...
Buying Without Audition
Hi Larstusor,    You're in a spot that plenty have been in...sometimes with the demand on family it is impossible to leave for a couple of days, so I understand that you can't go listen.... Your only other option is to shop and educate yourself as...
Thorens TD 125 MK II with TP 16 tonearm - What's it worth?
Hi hockey4496, when set up properly that Thorens is a fine table for the buck. I looked at the Craigslist ad. A headshell & belt will be around $100. Sitting for so many years, I would check it over carefully and getting perfect alignment on t...

Dunlavy SC-V questions
Seems like a decent price for a pair in good shape,  I'd have a hard time biting on something @ $4000 that looked rough...On the other hand,  if the veneers are in good shape, re gluing isn't too tough.  Good luck, Tim
Be careful when dealing with Pyon Sound - John Park
Even though I understand the attitudes of a few post that basically say "there's a sucker born every minute"..... overall,  I believe that people should represent their products correctly in advertising.  I haven't had it happen,  but I can easily...
Would a Technics SL-1200 MK2 be an upgrade from a Denon DP-31L?
Hi hockey4496,  sorry for the confusion,  no, not on top, on the underside and you'll need to make sure that you have clearance for your platter to spin.  You don't want the butyl to rub on anything and affect the speed of your platter by rubbing.
