Marigo vs Kubala-Sosna

I know it is difficult, but what about the sonical differences between these two brands?

Was thinking of replacing my Siltech Forbes Lake by one of them. Need a 'warmer' cable but certainly without loss of detail and transparency.

My system = Kharma CE2.2, Symphonic Line Kraftwerk amp, Metronome digital, Nirvana SL speakercable.

Thanks

Tell Jeff Smith that Mike from TweekGeek referred you.
Hi!

I can't speak on behalf of the Marigo, which I've never tried, but I have Kubala-Sosna Emotion interconnects and power cords in my system and they sound magnificent! As warm as you could like but with absolutely no loss of detail and dead-on, precise imaging. Give Joe Kubala a call, if you want, and talk to him yourself. He's a hell of a nice guy and makes an absolutely superior product.
Hi Bowtieguy

I've got K-S Fascination ic and sc since a few weeks in my system. They sound very nice indeed and I am thinking of upgrading to 'higher level' K-S already ...
Hi Mattheus,

You won't be disappointed. When I first bought my Emotions I also listened to the Fascinations and the Expressions. Oddly, I didn't like the sound of the Expressions much at all, finding them leaner and more constricted than the Fascinations, but if you like the Fascinations you'll love the Emotions.
Another vote for the Kubala Sosna, I've got my whole system wired with Emotion and the sound is exactly as Bowtieguy describes and as you say you'd like. A better match in my system than the Siltech Compass Lake was, and that cable was certainly no slouch.
Thanks for these wise words :-) I am looking for a pair of demo or second hand Emotion speakercable, but hard to find.If you should know someone...

How would you describe the difference between Fascination and Emotion? I really do like the Fascination but I'm always in 'for more'.
As a general matter, Emotion is better at the frequency extremes and more transparent, letting more information through. Overall tonal balance was similar, as I recall (so there is a distinct family resemblance).
OK. Sounds really nice to me. A little bit more transparancy would be welcome indeed but without loosing smoothness.
Hi Mattheus,

I'll chime in again here. I can't imagine a smoother cable than the Emotions. I think the sound is fuller and richer, more "saturated," than with the Fascinations. To my mind, the Emotions let you hear more of everything without making it sound confusing, if that makes any sense. :-)
Has anyone compared the Emotions to cables by Virtual Dynamics - Revelation or Master series? Reason I ask is that I've been lusting after a pair of the Virtual Dynamics cables having seen and heard them at the recent audio show in LA - but would consider Emotions if folks have compared them favorably to the VD. Not only did the Virtual Dynamics sound great (although hard to judge in show conditions and with so many other links in the chain), but physically they seemed extremely well made. I found it intriguing that each cable had an extremely strong magnet as part of the signal chain, whereby if the two cables touch, it's almost impossible to seperate them. Anyway, I know some folks swear by the Master or Revelation, so am keen to learn if folks have compared impressions vs. the Emotions.
