Cheap, home-made component stand....
Thanks Schipo, but for my application, I want something low and with spikes, I think. Man, those little tables look like a great bargain tho!

Bgrazman...Nice looking rack and gear. I`m putting together a two channel main system that would have just two components, an int. amp and cdp. I`d like to keep the space between the speakers open so I figured I`d build a couple of low slung stand...

Thanks George. That`s certainly a more refined example and one that I`ll build.

Thanks Dave,My room is 14`x17`, however, one end of the room (along the long wall) opens to the dining room about half way up. I`ll have some experimenting to do.I think I`ll try one of those sponge mattress toppers on the front wall to begin with...

Dave,As a newbie, I have much to learn. It does appear to me that speaker placement is system and room dependant. When I get my tsm based system together, it will be fun to experiment. How far from the front wall have you placed the speakers?btw......

Thanks for the links, Spencer. I`ll do some research. On reflection of my question, I guess there isn`t one easy answer. Lots of variables involved. I`ll work at it.

Are there some front wall treatments that work better than others? ie....cloth wrapped insulation, heavy carpet, drapes etc. Does one really have to go to this extent?I suppose ideally, if your wall is 13 ft. wide, you should cover the whole thing...

I would also like some answers to this question.
1cdp/ 1 int. amp/ 1 outlet....
Jond..Much thanks, I`ll look into it.
1cdp/ 1 int. amp/ 1 outlet....
Yioryos, I`m new at this so forgive my ignorance. Can the cdp and 40w int. amp both be plugged into this unit without sound degradation, or do I need two AUO`s, one for each? I guess my question relates to other line conditioners as well.

Thanks Beavis and Nick. I`ll research those two items.
TV and/ or system rack between speakers...
Vladimir, that was very helpful. Thanks. Because of your post, I`ve decided to place the speakers along the long wall and find a new location for the tv. Hell, I might sell the damn thing and just keep the one tv in the bedroom.
