Tvad...Right on about DVDA! For years I have argued that it is as good or better than SACD, but for some reason most of those audiophiles who will accept high resolution have been snowed by Sony propaganda about DSD.All my DVDA are 96KHz, although...
Too good to be true?
Here is something to think about...Theft, and the fencing and sale of stolen goods is actually good for the economy.A brand new $400 TV is stolen from you. It is fenced for $100, and resold for $150. The person who buys it could not afford to buy ...
Bargain interconnects to tame treble & boost bass?
Jpbach...It's your nickel. But remember that the Spectrum analyser feature of the DEQ2496 is way better than the Radio Shack SPL meter for evaluating the effectiveness of changes to your system/room. Consider its EQ capability as a bonus.
Bel Canto eOne amps - Is this the future?
Humanmedia...I stand corrected. NuForce doesn't use the UcD module. Based on what I read its design approach is more like UcD than ICE.

Tvad's suggestion for the Audio Control C-101 Equalizer is good if you can get it for anything like $30. Don't forget that you will need to add a calibration microphone to fully utilize the C-101. I'm not sure what kind of mic is needed, but I hav...
Behringer DEQ2496 HELP
Ecruz...Seems to me that a "quality issue" would show up all the time. I rather suspect there is some kind of power or ground disturbance that the Behringer is picking up. Sometimes an input wire from a turned-off source can be noisy...noise that ...
Behringer DEQ2496 HELP
Ecruz...What does the error message say? I never saw one.I would try removing the line conditioner and see if the problem still occurs.
Is Apogee in a class by itself among planars?
Muralman1...This sounds the same as Maggies, except the magnets run in horizontal rows instead of vertical rows.Sogood51...Having magnets only on one side (front or back)of the panel does theoretically give an asymmetrical drive, but, because the ...

DA DA!! Behringer DEQ2496 to the rescue again.Seriously, its spectrum analyser will show you what your problem is, and can help evaluate any fixes you try. And, in the meanwhile you can shape the frequency response to something you like, which may...

Trelja...How do you create a strong magnetic field across the gap of a wide ribbon? Can you please describe how the magnetics of the Apogee are set up.

By the way, I think that the CIA D200 and the NuForce share the same UcD amplifier module, but the CIA unit has a conventional power supply whereas the NuForce has a switcher. I have no idea whether this makes a difference.I do note that the manuf...
Behringer DEQ2496 - worth using in hi-end system?
Kenn39...You raise a good point. Being aware of this I have set up low gain power amps, so that my "pre-out" signal level is as high or higher than the CDP output signal level. This is why a TAPE loop, if you have one, is the best place to put any...
Behringer DEQ2496 - worth using in hi-end system?
Drubin...An Optical-to-Coax converter can be found at www.partsexpress.com item 180-961. However, reading the DEQ2496 manual, I see that the digital output which is on an XLR connector can be switched between the professional format, AES/EBU, and ...
Behringer DEQ2496 - worth using in hi-end system?
Drubin...A Toslink-to-Coax converter is actually reasonable. After all, there is one such device at the input of every unit that has a Toslink input. Of course it would have to be a powered device. I think I have seen one in a catalog somewhere, b...
Bel Canto eOne amps - Is this the future?
Muralman1...I do not doubt your integrity. Sorry if it came across like that. I guess I should have said "accurate" instead of "truthful". The usual description of products like this is "Assembled in USA with parts sourced from _____"I do think th...
