Review Audioquest Hurricane (part 1)
I am making another feed from my panel that will be a blend of ofc and mil spec silver coat cu with limited shielding.  I'm not so interested in chrio.  IMO, once a cable is fully broken in, the chrio makes little difference.  I don't think many d...
Review Audioquest Hurricane (part 1)
People keep playing with the first or last 3 to 6 feet, depending on how you look at it.  I inserted ofc wire from my panel to a distribution block. No outlet in the wall to the block.  Direct connect.  Block to panel.  My equipment is feed from o...

I bought the Trio 15 with Horn and upgraded cables.

Ok, I re-read it.  I gather the resistance went up, not down.  And a warning that amps may not like this.  I still see nothing talking about frequency extension or any engineering theories on how changing the electrical values passing the signal w...

Celander,  How do you get extra bandwidth.  You lowered the resistance with parallel conductors and upped the capacitance and induction.  I don't see any reason for the bandwidth to change just because those changed..  I get the DAC and preamp are...

What do you think is being filtered that is improving the sound?  What other ways do you think you could achieve the same ends?

Oddly what you are doing makes sense to a degree.  I know nothing about the interactions of cables and gear.  As in why it happens.  Only a glossy idea of why it occurs.  Ok, I'm uneducated.  Now that that is clarified, I have made the following o...

Hey guys.  I have had the Trio 10 for about 2 years.  I have upgraded the Caps and Chokes.  You really should try the Solden 12 AWG air core chokes.  Like changing caps.  I have upgraded the cables and I have floated the crossover behind the speak...
my ethernet cable?
All cables matter.  Audio is not a spread sheet.  Its audio.  Data cables matter.  I'm sure there are levels of diminished returns.  What should you spend.  Well, how good is your server, DAC, amps speakers etc.  How about your data network.  Do y...
$700 Used TT Upgrade Advice, Is it Worth It For Me?
https://www.audionirvana.org/forum/the-audio-vault/diy/43633-rp6-hot-rodded-with-remote-motor-mountSee this link.  I did this with my RP6 and it became a phenomenal TT.  The arm change is not the biggest improvement.  It was pulling the motor off ...
Luxman 505UX vs. Luxman 550AX Integrated Amps
I had a Rega Osiris and replaced it with a CJ Premier 140 with Teflon upgrades.  The CJ was a much more powerful amp.  It had a lot more dynamic energy and harmonic richness.  I have since moved on from the CJ>.  However, I found the Rega had a...

I have 2 humidifiers I run 24 /7 in my house.   They are really to protect the hardwood floors.   Having audio equipment on ungrounded circuits is not a good idea.  pay an electrician to get one 10awg circuit from your panel to your listening room...
Tom Tutay Transition Audio Design Preamp
I still have my amps.  I had to do a bit of tweaking to get what can be had from the amps.  Tom has a good design, but he is very cost conservative in some critical areas I feel he should not be.   In particular I changed the caps on the signal in...
Rega Planar 3 upgrades help.
A hugh piece of my text dropped out.  The big change was remote mounting my motor.  I screwed a 1/2" thick spacer of plywood under my motor, then pealed the motor off the plinth and used 30lb  sticky tape to adhere it to my base.  I also mounted t...
