Wireless Transmitter/Receiver for Rear speaker in HT
for clarification, I'm looking for a low level transmitter/receiver between the pre/pro and power amp which I will place with the rear speakers.
Best Tonearm Lifter?
I have the Q-up. It works perfectly and is easy to set up. It's less fiddly than other lifters I've used.
B&K preamp question
I have 2 of the PT-3 MkII's and they are a steal of a preamp.  I too can't say if the PT-5 has anything other than Balanced outputs over the PT-3.
New Ikea storage unit great for LP's!
For storage systems which may be too deep, here's an inexpensive solution.  Many years ago, before Ikea, I bought some 30"x15"x15" boxes at an unfinished furniture store.  I selected the model with 4 vertical divisions.  I then found some scrap ...
New Ikea storage unit great for LP's!
that looks exactly like the Expidit shelf unit that I've been using. The Kallax appears to have some nice accessories (eg, doors, drawers, feet) that I'd like to get for my Expidits if they'll fit.  The one issue I had with the 2x8 units (ie, when...
R.I.P. John Wetton (King Crimson/Asia)
One of my favorite voices - I liked everything he did, though Asia was a bit too "pop" for me. Those King Crimson albums he was on are my favorites by KC.
Soundtracks that you listen all the way through and it's all great.

I've used a Rel Storm III sub with Totem Sttaf's and it sounds fantastic.
Obscure bands
it seems like this thread has turned into a mostly progressive rock discussion.  Many of the groups mentioned don't really seem to me to be "obscure", but then, I guess that's because I know about them already ;-)Here's some more I haven't seen me...
Obscure bands
Twelfth Night - I have a live CD by them "Live and Let Live" that I bought on impulse and it's great, but I previously haven't been able to find any other recordings, except for a CD by their vocalist Geoff Mann - "In One Era" that's equally good....
Modern Jazz (as in recent) Music Suggestions
Wynton Marsalis
Dan Hicks has passed away.
R.I. P Dan. I think I have all of the Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks albums, including the last one. Saw them perform at Wolf Trap in DC. Great show, and I still have his albums on my regular playlist.
Amplifier repair in the Baltimore/Washington area
Bill Thallman at Music Technology is great.  They are located in NVa just off the beltway.
