Bellari 129 or phono imput on my onkyo pre/pro
I'm not sure what the Bellari is selling for now, but I had one some time ago when the price was $129. At that price it was ok, but there are problems with it. It may be a good choice for you, but realize not everyone had a good experience with it...
Bellari 129 or phono imput on my onkyo pre/pro
why is the Belari your only external phono option? IMO there are many other budget phono stages that are better, or at least worth considering. Either way, I'd try/use the Onkyo stage until I decided it wasn't doing the job, then upgrade to an ext...
Totem Forest or Mani-2 signature?
I drove my Mani's with a TAD 60 in triode mode - rated at 30 watts. They sounded wonderful, but were capable of only modest volume. This worked great for acoustic music - Jazz, Chamber, etc. Not a rock and roll set up though.
Totem users using Totem cable?
thanks Chas, I've tried them in multiple arrangements and they sound best as I have them. The bass is excellent even without the sub - I have the sub crossed over at 31 Hz, and often play without it. The Manis are flat to 30 Hz, so except in music...
Totem users using Totem cable?
I have them on a diagonal, and ~4-5ft from the wall. You can see them on my system page.
Totem users using Totem cable?
I'm using Totem Bi-wires with my Mani-2s. I've tried others, most notably PS Audio Statement bi-wire. The totems were an improvement, and don't have the bulk of the Statements
Bias on solid state?
right you are Grimace . . . I neglected to engage my brain before that post. As for your question - there may be more authoritative responders, but it does affect sound, and also determines class of operation. For example, by B&K M200s are bia...
What are the best small not bookshelf speakers?
Totem Sttaf! Compact, small footprint, nice to look at, and sound great in that size room. n You can get them in different color veneer to blend with your other furnishings.
Bias on solid state?
also, the Nuvistor is actually a tube, not a transistor.
New to Home Theater
Well here's my 2 cents - based on setting up my own "cave".I assume you're happy with the JC2, and the A21. I would build around that. You may want to allocate some of your budget to buy new/upgraded speakers for your "cave", and leave the Studio ...
New to Home Theater
a couple of questions first . . . why do you want HT in both rooms? and what is your budget for room 2 HT capability?
Will there be any 'Arrow' mark in a Fuse holder?
I find it's harder to be skeptical if there is a rational hypothesis provided that's at least loosely grounded in the physics, acoustics, or material sciences. How a fuse that's conducting AC, especially one that's not in the signal path, can have...
cd storage
I've learned to like the drawer storage. It's easy to search through, and easier on my aging back. Also, uses less wall space, which is an advantage to me vs using less floor space. In my case I purchased Ikea Maalm 6 drawer dresser and installed d...
Will there be any 'Arrow' mark in a Fuse holder?
I think the quote was someone's joke. Fuses complete the continuity of a single wire. There no reason at all fro them to be directional. I've never seen a directional fuse or fuse holder.
Which cost more: your system or your car?
my cars COST cost more (2000 Jag S-Type, and 2002 BMW 530i), but at this point my system is worth much more.
