Just when I think nobody else would notice Emma Kirby, you guys surprise me once again. A remarkable voice and talent. My favourite classical versions are some of the works conducted by Hogwood and the Academy of Ancient Music. Her Mozart Requiem is divine.
Geez, people have mentioned so many great singers: William Shatner, Kermit the Frog, William Hung, the Chipmunks, and more. However, I think you guys have really missed the clear winner. How many people remember the duo Barnes and Barnes? Not ringing a bell? How about the song Fish Heads? You know....
Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, yum!
Yep, great lyrics sung by a pair of amazing voices. These peeps need serious comsideration for #1. And if they don’t get that then every surely must think that their music is a big #2.....
Hey there! It's hard to say who is the best singer in the world because there are a lot of really good singers like Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Pink, and other guys. Also, if you need help with writing your papers you can apply to the web where you can buying term papers online
Ridiculous question of course, but as for a "favorite" I'd have to say Lowell George. It's not a contest and I've seen Ella and Joni Mitchell…but Lowell kills me.
Yes! I have a lot of albums on which Emma Kirby sings, and she cavorts with a lot of my favorite period/historically-informed musicians. Such a clear, beautiful voice without all that overdone vibrato of some "serious"/trained singers.
Probably the most influential male singer of out lifetimes is Ray Charles. In Country music it's George Jones. The most impossible to imitate is Howlin' Wolf. Wolf makes everyone else sound like 12 year old boys.
Nat King Cole and the underated Marilyn Monroe would get my votes. One had the most perfect smoothest style ever whilst other dispensed entirely with artifice.
I'm also constantly surprised at what a great voice Elvis Presley had, and Doris Day could make almost any song sound good. Matt Monroe and Michael Holiday all most overdo the smoothness. Judy Garland had almost everything, except, understandably, a sense of ease.
Although the song always comes first there is something primal in the way a human voice sounds.

Just as a point of interest, I went to high school with
Joanie Sommers. She was two grades behind me. She used to sing at our assemblies .... cute as hell too. :-)
