MFSL worth it?
2channel8,I bought them to listen to but didn't get around to it at first. This was during MFSL's short-lived time as a retailer in a strip mall in Sebastopol, CA. They seemed to be on shaky ground financially and the possibility that they might d...
MFSL worth it?
A few years ago, I sold my sealed MFSL records for $50 each, without regard for the title or artist. I probably made a mistake, but I had only paid $13.99 for each years earlier. The only exception was "Woodstock" (5 record set, not sealed), which...
I just inherited 800-1000 CD's and a lot of them are filthy
curiousjim,Use paper towels at your own risk. Cloth is best! I bet you're glad you saved those old tee shirts.
So I just inherited a bunch of CD's and some are made overseas...
I’d keep the ones made in Japan. They are typically a higher quality.

That "Novus" plastic cleaner should be fine. I use Novus #1 Plastic Clean and Shine. Remember to clean at a 90 degree angle (so they say). You can also use it for the jewel boxes. In my experience, CD players are very forgiving of surface scratches.
Headphone cable, what do you do?
Buy a pair of Stax headphones. They offer 25 ft. extension cords that are specifically designed to be used with Stax phones. I’m not a tech but I doubt that there is any loss of fidelity. I have two, one for each pair of phones. One is round, the ...

Which Nakamichi to choose?
melbguyone,I recognize that there are probably decks that rival the performance of the Nakamichi cassette decks. I recall seeing a Tandberg 3014 at a stereo store decades ago and wondering how it sounded. I never sat down to listen and I can only ...

elizabeth,Fiesty as always! 4,500 then...still a houseful. You asked for opinions, and now you have mine, or were you just rambling? You can do what you want (I’m sure you will, anyway). Remind me again, what was the purpose of this thread?

Now here is a thread that everyone will have an opinion about. 12K records! Have you ever watched “Hoarders?” But, seriously, my advice would be to ask yourself how long has it been since you listened to certain records in your collection. If it h...
MFSL worth it?
MFSL records are well made and generally reliable for good sound, especially if still sealed. Having said that, I agree with the above comment that you sell it and buy more music.
Great equipt stand for under $500???
knollbrent,The rack you chose from Amazon is probably as good as anything else suggested.
Which Nakamichi to choose?
“I’ll wait for some high end company to release a new high end 3-head deck with the latest technology.”Sounds good, but don’t hold your breath. Save yourself a lot of angst and just buy a Nakamichi. I recommend the Dragon, CR-7A, RX-505 and ZX-9, ...
